Ambai slurped on a pudding with a bored expression. "How long do I have to stay here?"

"Until the doctors say so," Rebus peeled another pudding and handed it to her. He took the empty packet and dropped in a plastic bag.

"Seriously?!" Ambai ate the pudding with a deep frown. "Rebus, if we stay here any longer we might get caught by that annoying guy,"

"Don't worry about all that," he gently patted her head.

"Don't pat me. I feel like a pet," Ambai pushed his hands with a pout. "Can we just leave? I'm so bored in here..... plus I don't like hospitals...."

"Just a few days, yeah? Then we shall be on our way." he kissed her cheeks softly.

Ambai nodded. She flipped open the book he had brought for her and read its contents blankly.

After a while, a nagging question arose in her mind. Without thinking, she uttered, "Rebus, who is Jillian?"

He froze. "S—she... she....is no one to worry about," he stuttered, gritting his teeth loudly.
