Chapter 39 | Cas
"I'm not going through there"
"Yes, you are!" I looked at the sharp edges of the broken fence.
"Oh, I doubt it" Hibi glared at me, bent forward with her hands on her hips.
"Just crawl through it!" I bent down to look at the narrow hole that could probably fit me, but I was not ready to take that chance.
"What if it touches me?"
She facepalmed "It's just metal".
"I meant the mud" I crossed my arms over my chest. There was no way I was crawling through there. And risk getting my clothes torn to shreds? Fat chance.
"You're clothes aren't exactly sparkling clean are they?"
"Hibiscus I'm not walking into Diamonds covered in dirt" She let out a dramatic sigh.
"No one will care, look at me! I'm dirty too!" She gestured to her ripped jagged clothing.
"That's different, you're always looking rough" She shot me a glare.
"Just get through before the guards do another round!" She whispers back in irritation.
I narrowed my eyes at her "I thought you said this part was abandoned because it's near the Whispering Willows".
"I lied"
My jaw dropped in shock. "Well, how am I supposed to trust that crawling through here is safe then?"
"Take my word for it"
I pointed at her "You just admitted your word is unreliable."
She shrugged "I never said it wasn't".
I gasped "Well I might as well just stay here then"
"I swear on the four kingdoms" She muttered pinching the bridge of her nose "Caspian Honeydew-
"Heraskoff" I corrected.
She pouted "I was close" I shook my head.
"No, you weren't"
"Just crawl under the fucking fence" I opened my mouth to protest but I was silenced by her glare. I slowly got on my knees and crawled to the entrance.
"What do I get if I make it" She groaned in annoyance.
"I don't know, what do you want?" I smirked.
"A kiss" She turned on her heel and began to leave. "Wait come back!" She looked back with a raised eyebrow. "Clean clothes"
"Done. Now crawl"
I rolled my eyes but slowly began to manoeuvre beneath the jagged and very sharp fence. "What are the chances you look up and rip off half of your head of hair?" I growled.
"Shut up"
"Why are we going through the alleyways"
The very beautiful alleyways at that.
Not a speck of dirt or trash was in sight. The walls were smooth and well painted and the ground was a stone with clear crystals embedded in it, they gleamed slightly in the moonlight, confirming that they were there.
"Because Diamonds is a kingdom that never sleeps" She explains "I have a reputation to uphold and being seen walking down the streets with you in tow would not strengthen that" I snorted.
"I feel like I should be offended" She cooed and pinched my cheek.
"You should be"
I noticed how deep we were going into the alleyways and I stopped walking. "Where are you taking me"
"Somewhere where it's easier to bury a body" She saw my shocked look and chuckled "I have a place in Diamonds Cas" That...shocked me.
Since I'd known Hibi she'd had a whole...nomad vibe. She had told me on many occasions that she was constantly moving and never staying in the same place as she was always looking for new land to add to her map. The thought of her having a consistent place where she could come back to whenever she wanted was rather. Odd.
"And don't expect much! After all, I've not been back here in over nine months" She began to lead me up a rather dark staircase, her confidence in where she was going brought me small comfort. At least I know she had an idea of where we were going.
But with Hibi, you never really know...
"It might be dusty but it's pretty cosy and has a fantastic view of the whole city" We got to the top of what I now think is a tower. We got to the top and she pulled out a stone from one of the walls, revealing a key. She unlocked the door and took a step in with me in tow, then my jaw hit the floor.
It was exactly the type of place someone like Hibi would live in.
Carpets and beautiful cloth hung from the ceiling. Jewels and other probably priceless artefacts were lying on the floor carelessly. Hibi ignored them as she skillfully manoeuvred around them. She picked up some matched and started lighting multiple candles, big and small that lined her home.
The place as a whole was large but was stuffed with many things that made it feel much smaller.
"If you break anything you'll pay with your teeth"
I rolled my eyes but still walked around her things thoughtfully. I wouldn't risk this perfect smile for the world.
She strutted to a curtain of beads and walked through them. I followed her and there was a large bed with many furs and thick sheets were thrown across it. It looked extremely comfortable and fluffy.
Across it was the view Hibi talked about. There was a large opening that led slightly outside with no protective railing. There were no doors or windows in her house, just openings that let in air and revealed amazing views.
I walked towards her balcony and my breath was completely taken away by Diamonds. Houses were built around each other in a beautiful way, all lit up with lights and the sound of music. Paint lined the walls and cloths of many colours hung from building to building. It was in a word, beautiful.
"So you take the couch and I'll have the bed" Hibi murmured as she continued lighting scented candles that brought a calming aroma to my nostrils. A mischievous thought reached me as I walked to her slowly. "Fuck I'm exhausted, I could sleep for months" She ran a hand through her hair, releasing her curls from the self-tied ponytail.
"Cas you can grab a-
She let a squeak of surprise as I came up behind her and scooped her into my arms. I tossed her onto the bed, watching as she bounced slightly and quickly got on top of her, hovering above her panting body. "I don't mind sharing the bed with you".
She huffed and tried to roll out of my embrace but I kept her trapped underneath my arms. "Fine, I'll take the-oof" Her breath left her lungs as I flopped on top of her, putting all my weight on her "Fuuuuuuucckkkkk" She let out a breathy moan. "Get off of me" She whined.
"No can do sweetheart, you've had a long day and need your rest" I nearly chuckled at the feel of her tiny hands trying to push me off. "You can either cooperate or we can remain like this for the rest of the evening".
"Fuck" She let out a gasp for air "You-hufhh-Cas" I snickered.
"I guess you've made your decision" I slid off my boots with my feet and tucked my head into her neck, breathing in her scent and the one of the candles.
"You're crushing me"
"You'll live"
"Okay okay, we can share the bed! Just keep to your own side" I snuggled into her further.
"No, I quite like the feeling of you under me" I felt her skin warm up making me smirk.
"You're killing me" She wheezed.
"And what a lovely way to die it is"
I let a bit of my weight off of her but continued to lay on her. After a few minutes of me just lying on her "Hibi?" She hummed in response. "You're comfortable".
"Shut up I'm trying to sleep".
