Mira had found the Peacock Miraculous soon after she and her mother arrived in Paris. It was lying near the water. Mira immediately knew what it was, so she kept it. There was no one nearby, so it would be difficult to find the pin's owner.
When Mira was alone, she wore the pin and talked with Duusu, the Kwami who inhabited the Miraculous. Mira felt bad about lying to Adrien, but she couldn't risk having him discover what was in her possession.
"Woohoo! I've been so bored lately, and now I can roam around and do so much!" Duusu exclaimed as she flew in a circle around the room.
"Duusu, be quiet!" Mira shout-whispered.
"Oops! Sorry," Duusu apologized, quieter this time. Although it didn't appear like it, Duusu had more control over her emotions than she did before. When the Peacock Miraculous was damaged, it affected Duusu's personality as well. After it was fixed, Duusu was back to her normal self.
"I can't let my mother find out about you, so you have to be quiet until she leaves," Mira warned.
"I know, I'll be quiet," Duusu assured her.
"For now, I'm just going to stay in her. When my mother leaves, we're going to explore Paris." Mira was excited. She took a bite of her sandwich and turned on the TV. She watched part of a show on how French desserts were made. Meanwhile, Duusu flew around and looked at everything in the room. It looked so formal and delicate.
Mira sat up at the sound of her mother's footsteps approaching. Duusu his under the bed.
"I'll be leaving now," Clarisse announced.
"I hope you have a successful time," Mira said. The two exchanged goodbyes, and Mira watched as Clarisse walked out of the hotel room.
"Finally! Now I can explore Paris," Mira clasped her hands together.
"Wait, what if she forgot something?" Duusu worried.
"Don't worry. All she needed was her bag and phone, and she had both of them," Mira assured Duusu.
She slid off the bed and removed the pin from the paperweight. Duusu disappeared for a second, but reappeared when Mira attached the pin to her nightwear.
With much excitement, Mira exclaimed, "Duusu, spread my feathers!"
Mira's transformation was magnificent and full of color. She looked a lot like the previous owner of the Peacock Miraculous. The large window in Mira's room opened easily. She jumped out and shut it carefully. Mira held onto the ledge of the building, a bit nervous now. She climbed to the roof of the hotel and looked down. It was eight o'clock, and the roof provided a great view of the illuminated, sleepy city.
Mira took off running. It felt strange, to be running in costume, high above the ground without fear. She came to a gap between buildings. This was her chance to practice jumping.
Mira was nervous. Jumping so far and so high could be dangerous if done incorrectly. She increased her pace widened her stride lengths. With a quick breath, she leaped high above the gap. She rose much high than she would've without the Miraculous's power's . It was ans amazing feeling.
Mira hadn't done anything like this in years. When she landed, her feet hit the ground and stumbled. Mira fell forward and landed hard. She was breathing hard, and laughing. In an instant, Mira was back on her feet, running once more. This time when she jumped, she landed on her feet and kept balance.
It wasn't long before Mira was running and jumping just like a professional. She hadn't had this much fun in years.
