At first there seemed to be no difference between the three healing classes in how their class specific healing spells work, but knowledgeable players knew that couldn't be further from the truth. In reality the three healing classes have different methods of using class specific heals.
Druids borrow the life energy from nature and use that to heal. The life energy taken is the excess released from the environment in most cases. That's why Druids seem to become livelier in forest environments. Many healing tools use this concept of healing as well.
Oracles take the ambient mana into their bodies and mix it with their life energy to convert the mana into a power that can heal. This method keeps their healing spells consistent while they don't have to worry about many factors like Druids do.
A lot of healing tools use this concept as well. Most tools like potions use a combination of both methods. Even Shi Feng's Aura of Water from the Seven Luminaries Ring uses both methods, leaning more toward the Oracle concept.
On the other hand Clerics gather healing power from a different source. No one knows what this source is exactly. Many library books, scholars, and mages theorize this source to come from an extremely powerful ancient god, or something similar to the Hell Fire Source that powers all demons. Few healing tools use this method.
Whatever this source may be; it gives clerics a sacred energy and that is why the Evil God's Temple hates the Cleric class the most out of the 12 classes. Clerics are the best when cleansing the evil energy that powers them.
This is why Wind Hunter was confused. He didn't sense the sacred aura that Clerics give off from Violet Cloud. Instead he sensed nothing but dreary death energy as he gazed upon her.
It was as if he was staring at a God of Death. What kind of guild is Zero Wing!? Why do they have so many monsters?
As the shadowy figure of Death hovered behind her, Violet Could asked Wind Hunter again, "will you be a good boy now and wait for my guild leader to finish his fight?"
Wind Hunter gritted his teeth, "what do you take me for? Either way I'm dead, so I will go out fighting!" He had many escape tools, but unfortunately most of them won't work in World Projection's area. He didn't believe the ones he did have can help him out run Violet Cloud either.
Wind Hunter raised his greatsword and dove for the Cleric before him. A large amount of evil energy gathered to his sword turning it to a black fog. The fog then took the shape of a giant spear that darted for Violet.
Tier 4 Legacy skill- Vanquishing Pierce
This was the strongest skill in Wind Hunter's arsenal. With it he's confident of severely injuring a superior mythic monster and overwhelming it for a short time.
The spear of black fog has 310% of his strength, 140% of his attack speed, ignores 75% of the enemies defense, deals piercing damage, and has a 20% chance to instant kill an enemy with 10% or less HP.
Seeing the spear of fog hurled towards her, Violet Cloud raised her Death Sigh which caused her projection to raise it scythe. They both then made a simple swing towards the spear.
Both moves tore apart space leaving black lines behind them, when the two attacks collided the air trembled as a shock wave exploded from the point of contact.
Wind Hunter was thrown a few meters back while Violet stayed in the same position, her figure unmoving. Her Reaper's seemed to have taken a little damage and started to repair itself.
How is that possible, this skill can even injure a superior mythic? How can a Cleric rival my attack power? Questions filled Wind Hunter's mind, but he didn't dwell on it; he quickly lunged himself at his opponent going for another strike.
This skill allows him to strike eight times and each attack gets stronger then the last, his skill is no less powerful than a tier 4 taboo skill.
"Still not giving up I see. In that case let me test out this mana technique," Violet had a slight hint of anticipation shine in her eyes. Her reaper projection seemed to grow bigger and more realistic as it raised its scythe once more.
The two attacks clashed repeatedly causing shock waves that created a dome of sorts around the two.
The spectators outside the city were astonished, it looked like two primordial creatures were fighting for dominance in the air. Both sides not giving up an inch.
The expert players from the superpowers among them had a different opinion however.
"Why is Zero Wing's Violet Cloud not ending this battle? Based on the attack power of her skill she can end this in a few hits."
"I don't know. Maybe she is just testing the waters or that berserker did something that's forcing her in a passive state?"
These experts clearly saw the difference between both sides. Wind Hunter was a Flowing Water Realm expert and capable of perceiving and predicting his opponent's every action. He also didn't rely on just his sight when fighting, proving that he could push he's five senses to their limits, he's a step away from the Void realm.
His combat standards are very high.
But Violet Cloud is leagues above him. Not only is she a Domain realm expert, she didn't seem like the average Domain realm expert either. She should have more than enough control of her body to foil Wind Hunter's perception and judgment, while easily hitting his openings and weak spots.
Even a Void realm expert can easily do that not to mention an apex expert like her. This is why they were confused. The difference in their current attributes seemed negligible so naturally Violet should have won by now. That's why they were wondering what her plan could be.
On the eighth clash, Violet Cloud was pushed back and her projection had been damaged in some places.
Shi Feng took a glance at Violet's battle. "No wonder Violet became a tier 6 God, her talent is truly unbelievable."
The first part of the Holy Annihilation mana technique; Light Shadow, doesn't really suit magical classes. So Violet had altered it to something that fits her style more.
In all of Zero Wing, only Gentle Snow had recently learned Light Shadow. Everyone one else is either still practicing the technique or has made a derivative of it. None of these derivatives comes close to Light Shadows power though.
While the mana technique Violet had created doesn't have as much power as Light Shadow, it could be used continuously without stopping to form it again unlike Light Shadow. So in a way Violet's mana technique is superior. He was thoroughly impressed.
"This technique really drains a lot of concentration. I'll need more practice with it." She said to herself. "Are you ready to give up now?" She looked towards Wind Hunter.
The man had nothing but frustration on his face. "What kind of spell is that? How can it match my strongest skill?" He felt like he was being toyed with. Since his skill had a piercing effect, it could penetrate through other attacks and shields. Of his eight strikes, Violet had hit everyone of them in a way so that they would divert his attack trajectories and lose most of its effects.
All the damage her projection took was mainly from the force of the shock waves.
"You people from Zero Wing leave me no choice!" Wind Hunter said through gritted teeth.
Wind Hunter then spread his arms wide open, looking towards the sky he shouted, "my beast, you have done your jobs! Now give me the power you have collected!"
Suddenly all the Evil Leeches in the Orc City came to a pause. They started flying at Wind Hunter, ignoring everyone else. One leech latched its teeth on Wind Hunter's body, then another, and another. The leeches created a giant squirming black ball that was disgusting to look at.
Violet Cloud was thoroughly shocked at the sight. She's not some anime protagonist that watches her opponent power up but with Wind Hunter's shout a massive mental pressure bore down on her causing her to freeze for a slight second.
She rushed towards the black ball and raised her staff once more, causing her projection to do the same. Suddenly she sensed a massive energy coming from the center of the Evil Leeches.
Another shadow of the Grim Reaper appeared behind her. This one, larger than her mana technique. She quickly swung her Death Sigh downwards causing the Grim Reaper to do the same, and her projection threw its scythe.
Enhanced Dimensional Fracture
A black line that signified that space was being cleanly cut flew towards wind Hunter. The scythe that was thrown by her mana technique projection then merged with the skill. The power in this attack made the surroundings grey
The attack swiftly entered the mass of Evil Leeches and bisected it in a perfect half. When she expected the attack to continue on, her Dimensional Fracture stopped.
Soon after, the mass of leeches started to fall to the ground disintegrating into dust as they fell. When the view was clear an astonishing sight entered everyone's eyes. Wind Hunter who was being pushed to the edge had transformed.
It looked like he grew a meter in size, with skin turned red and more muscular, his body was wafting evil energy like never before.
In his hand he had a tiger grip on Violet Cloud's Dimensional Fracture and her reaper's scythe.
Wind Hunter then tightened his grip and both attacks shattered like glass.
The spectators couldn't believe it. Cutting apart space is nothing new to them, even powerful tier 3 players can do it. But Violet's attack has a different meaning to it. They recognized that her attack isn't just about cutting space but erasing every form of matter in it. That means her spell was just an empty void of nothing and Wind Hunter just shattered that void.
They doubted that a tier 5 player can accomplish the same thing. Only tier 5 NPCs were capable of something like that.
In the middle of the air Wind Hunter was beside himself with joy. "So this is the evolution that the boss was talking about. Even in it's incomplete state, it's still so powerful."
Wind Hunter felt truly invincible at this moment. For starters his attributes have risen considerably. It wasn't in the realm of what a tier 5 player would have, but it's much more than what a berserk skill can give him.
His physique has reached all new heights though, now easily surpassing that of superior mythics. His peak silver mana body had actually evolved as well. Now more arrays outline his mana body making it as complex as an advanced gold mana body.
But that's not what excited him the most. The level of mana in his command made him feel almighty.
At tier 3 he felt that his mana was in a gaseous state and when he became tier 4 his mana turned into a liquid state. This elevated his skills to the next level, making his tier 2 skills more powerful then even an ordinary tier 3 player's strongest attack.
But after his transformation he felt like the mana in his command was nearing a solid state. This solid state gave him an entirely new perspective on how mana works, and made him feel omnipotent.
Wind Hunter looked at Violet Cloud who had a stunned expression on her face, a menacing smile appeared on his lips. "It's time for round two."
Elsewhere in the city, Shi Feng had just distanced himself from Lord Byrne. He glanced at Wind Hunter who was radiating a ferocious aura. "No wonder omniscient eyes didn't work on those things. They were dismantled souls."
When a monster's HP reaches zero their body doesn't immediately disappear. Before that few seconds where their bodies turn into particles of light, their souls are still perfectly intact, that's why items like the Ancient God's Literature Fragment and Soul Orb are able to collect their soul's power. When the monster turns into particles of light and disappear, that's their soul breaking down so in most cases it can be recycled allowing the monster to respawn after a certain period of time.
On very extremely rare occasions these soul particles gain sentience. Players call these sentient soul particles, Dismantled Souls. As far as he knew, Dismantled Souls were one of the few ways players could strengthen their souls, even though he doesn't know the method of how it's done.
Other than that Dismantled Souls are completely useless. They are akin to walking trash items, that's why identification skills don't work on it.
If an item is completely broken it turns to trash, even if that item was once a Godly Relic unless repaired, trash is still trash.
Beast Emperor must have found a method to turn Dismantled Souls into some sort of weapon for his temple.
Lord Byrne looked at Wind Hunter with utter disdain. "What a fool. He's actually willing to damage his immortal soul for such unstable power." He then faced Shi Feng, "looks like your comrade is in danger, it's only a matter of time before you all die here."
He then looked like a shady salesman as he said, "you are quite promising. If you give back the Evil God's Sword, I'll allow you to join our temple and become an Evil God's Envoy under me. I'll even spare your comrades. How about it?"
Shi Feng only chuckled at the man, without hesitation he said to Lord Byrne, "no. Besides I don't need to worry about my comrade, she can more than handle herself. You should be more focused on our fight."
Shi Feng knew that even after getting a fragmented divine sword, fighting a tier 5 NPC wouldn't be easy. His battle with Kent wasn't a true indicator of a tier 5 NPCs strength.
Even if he were a Demigod, Kent was way past the point where a tier 5 NPC should be alive. The man's strength had fallen drastically, degrading his attributes and physique. If Kent hadn't been a Demigod, with his age he would've have fallen to tier 4 or 3. His actual combat power was actually at the border of tier 5, not in it.
Lord Byrne on the other hand can fully utilize his strength, making him a true tier 5 NPC. Even though Shi Feng has improved in nearly all aspects, it's still quite difficult to close the gaps in tiers.
Shi Feng activated Blade Saint Power, forcing himself to tier 5, he then activated Disintegration Field. Even though it has no effect on Byrne, it will still weaken the man's spells.
Seeing Shi Feng's increase in power Byrne only sighed. "I guess you won't understand your own weakness till I destroy it."
"You don't qualify to determine if I'm weak or not."
The two then dashed for each other and with the air trembling at their clash,their fight continued.
Above the plaza of the city lord's mansion, Wind Hunter had a maddening look on his face as he pushed back Violet Cloud. With every swing of his blade, he caused his surroundings to shutter, he could also feel his attacks becoming more precise and has further refined his movements.
Violet clearly wasn't having an easy time. Each time her Reaper clashed with Wind Hunter, it's scythe would shatter. This forced her to continually reform draining her concentration even more.
Under the onslaught of Wind Hunter's attacks, her finger moved at lightning speed and elegance as she traced runes in the air and recited an incantation.
After seven seconds Wind Hunter was about to deal a big blow, but she finished her spells.
Tier 4 Legacy spell- Star Slaughter
Shadow Rage
Five giant silver stars manifested around Violet while at the same time hundreds of magic circles appeared around her and with each magic circle came a shadow blade.
"Ha, you think that's enough to stop me. Let meshow you the ultimate power," Wind Hunter bellowed. He raised his greatsword at Violet and stabbed it at her.
Tier 4 Legacy Skill- Purgatory Fade
Massive amounts of evil energy extended out like a blade from the sword. Everywhere the evil energy passed, color faded out from existence.
Violet raised her finger and pointed at her opponent. Her giant stars and shadow blades then zoomed for Wind Hunter. The shadow blades then surrounded the stars making the attack look like rotating spiked balls.
Fusion spell- Shadow Star Slaughter
When the two attacks made contact, Wind Hunter's skill was torn apart. But he didn't panic instead he gripped his sword tight and started spinning.
Tier 3 skill- Typhoon Slash
Despite only being a tier 3 skill the attack easily had the power of peak tier 4.
His skill threw, Violets spells into some nearby buildings, killing some Evil Beast that were nearby.
"I told you, you're no match for my power! Just-" before Wind Hunter could continue his sentence, he noticed a giant scythe of death slicing at him from the side. Quickly he raised his greatsword to defend himself. Boom!
Upon impact Wind Hunter felt like he was hit by a truck as he flew like a meteor to the ground. He had lost nearly a million HP, but in his current state he had more than ten million HP so this was tolerable.
He forced himself out of the rubble and wiped the blood off his lips, "Damn, you managed to escape my perception. But that will be the last chance I give you. Let's end this."
Violet calmly floated to the ground and her Reaper disappeared. This confused Wind Hunter, "what? Are you giving up?"
Violet shook her head no. "That's not it. There's just no reason to continue this fight. I've already won."
"What. Little girl, have you gone mad, you barely did any damage to me, how could you have won already?" Wind Hunter's anger started to grow. He felt like Violet Cloud was toying with him. +
"The death energy should have spread throughout your body by now. You won't be able to continue fighting for a while."
"Death energy?!" As if he just realized, Wind Hunter examined his body condition. He now noticed that his entire body was tainted with a foreign substance, slowly draining his stamina. He hadn't noticed before due to the power up he had gotten from the Evil Leeches.
"No! Damn it!" Wind Hunter tried to cleanse his body of the death energy but couldn't. As he became more exhausted the man fell to the ground, sweating. He looked behind him and for a second he swore he saw the Grim Reaper holding its scythe to his neck.
"My guild leader had ordered me not to kill you, but you Evil God's Apostles sure are resistant to death energy. If it were anyone else they would've slowly died by now. Violet gave Wind Hunter what looked like a sincere bow. "Thank you for letting me properly test out my mana technique."
Seeing her thank him, Wind Hunter was filled with anger. From the very beginning Violet Cloud had been messing with him. Before he could say anything more he collapsed from stamina exhaustion.
Violet then transferred him into a mobile prison meant for catching Evil God's Temple members that Shi Feng gave her.
"Big Sis, Snow looks like she has everything under control. I wonder how Big Sis Fire is doing."
Inside the city lord's mansion, Fire Dance stood on top of multiple bloody corpses of players. She had her Thousand Transformations pointed at the neck of a terrified cursemancer.
Her sweet smile and gorgeous face will normally put a man in a daze but this only scared the cursemancer even more.
Fire Dance slowly pricked the cursemancer's neck causing some blood to trickle down causing him to lose a little HP. She asked in a very kind tone "now, are you going to answer my question or do I have to search for the answers myself?"
"Yes! Yes! I'll even tell you about my feet fetish, please just don't kill me!" The cursemancer nervously said.
Fire Dance gave him an annoyed look. She didn't need to know that information.
What Fire Dance didn't know is that ever since this cursemancer joined the Evil God's Temple, he's been living it up in the real world. If he were to die now all his hard work will go down the drain and his life of luxury may disappear.
Fire lifted her leather boots, pressed it on the cursemancer's chest slamming him down. She then motioned to a giant crystal that encased what seemed to be a humanoid beast. "Tell me what that thing over there is?"
She could feel a very dangerous aura coming from it. This aura is leagues above anything she had sensed in that past.
The cursemancer was distracted at first by Fire's boot but quickly answered her question. "I don't have to much information on what that is, but apparently it's something akin to a sage," he said.
