Jakes's father said" I'm glad to have you back son happy new year's eve."
Jakes said "happy New Year's Eve father, how is everything here and Evelin where is she?"
Jakes's father said "great, your sister and I been working hard. She is doing a great job managing the companies, now she is planning New Year eve party."
Jakes said" that's awesome I can't wait to get started, working with her and my fiancée."
Jakes's father said "congratulations son, I knew you were up to something, after New Year you start working for me in order for you to graduate and pay back all my money you been spending these years."
Jakes said "really, can't I have this week to rest."
Jakes's father said "you were on holiday the whole month, spend money now you have to work for it and I'm sure you rested enough there son."
Jakes said "I'm not complaining, will report to duty the day after new year."
Jakes's father said "don't sound sad, this what it means to be a grown up, where is Laura?"
Jakes said "she is resting, later will be heading to see her biological father, I'm so nervous and I didn't tell him I will pop the question. now will have to ask for his blessings in order to get married. "
Jakes's father said "he will understand, if he can be okay with you exploring and touring Europe with his daughter and having Christmas holidays there."
Jakes said "Father, are you upset I wasn't here for the holidays, you and him will get use to that. I plan on having these holidays with my soon to be wife and spoiling her."
Jakes's father said "let's hope you don't get broke, if you plan on going to these trips daily."
*Evelin joins the conversation*
Jakes said "how are you my sister?"
Evelin said "I am awesome brother, you're engaged congratulations."
Jakes said "Thank you, these balloons you have and don't tell me you will place them here."
Evelin said "why not, we are having happy new year's eve party."
Jakes said "exactly, not a baby shower where is the party planner and the guest list."
Evelin said "you just got here already bossing me around, it's my party I will manage thanks."
Jakes said "okay, are you not going to ask me?"
Evelin said "ask you what?"
Jakes said "really, how I pop the question or is it hard for you considering you are divorced."
Evelin said "I have move on, I was going to ask Laura, you always want the woman to tell the story and you can tell me lover boy."
Jakes said "it was amazing we were on top of the mountain I said my long speech and then I asked her to marry me."
Evelin said "wow that sounds... I should have definitely waited for Laura to tell me the story now it's ruined. "
Jakes said "what, she will tell you what I just said."
*Laura joins in the conversation.*
Laura said "what are you talking about?"
Jakes said "babe, tell her how I propose."
Laura said "we went hiking after having amazing food and wine. when I thought the day couldn't get any better, we were standing on top of the green mountain we could see the colourful houses, the sea the sun, the view on top there was breathe taking romantic. It was paradise, Jakes stood in front of me while I was just taking all this in, he pop the question and it was beautiful."
Evelin said "I'm crying, that's so romantic, wow jakes I'm proud. "
Jakes said "that is what I said."

Eric's father said "I have finally sign the divorce paper."
Eric said "I'm sorry father, I wish I could say or do something to help and I hate seeing you like this."
Eric's Father said "don't worry about me son, you should worry about your Mother."
Eric said "I can't just stop worrying, you should come with me to Laura and jakes engagement party happening later today."
Eric's Father said "I thought it was New Year's Eve party."
Eric said "that���s what Laura and jakes thinks."
Eric's Father said "I'll pass on that son, parting with young people or even partying not me."
Eric said "it is an engagement party the will be old people also, it is your chance to be close to Laura and the party will be fancy classy not crazy wild."
Eric's Father said "you seem to be a fan of this Smith family. "
Eric said "just think about it."
*Laura went to see her biological father with jakes.*
Laura said "father, jakes and I have some news to tell you."
Eric's father said "not exactly news, the ring says it all, I'm not impressed by how you did things Jakes."
Jakes said "well, I'm here to apologize for that and ask for your blessings I would love to be your son in law. To know you as my father in law."
Eric's Father said "if you hurt her you will have to deal with me, I give you my blessings I want her happy and I can see you make her happy her parents would have wanted that."
Laura said ���Thank you father."
Jakes said "Thank you, Mr Thompson."
Eric's father said "are you sure you are not pregnant, why are you two rushing you are young you are graduating soon and you should be thinking about your careers."
Laura said "I'm not pregnant, jakes and I are abstaining. I'm not comfortable talking about this."
Eric's father said "you're grown we should discuss such things, why the reason to wait if I may ask?"
Jakes said "we talked about it, decided will be best for us and something we believe in."
Eric's father said "well you're the definition of do not judge a book by its cover, I am surprised and impressed by you jakes."
Jakes said "does that mean will see you at the party?"
Eric's father said "I will be there."
*Laura and Jakes heading home*
Jakes said "that went well."
Laura said "you think, it was starting to get weird talking about the wait and him sounding like we have known each other for years this father and daughter relationship."
Jakes said "nothing to be embarrassed about, he is trying to be your father he is a good man."
Laura said "well new year tomorrow should make plans, have a braai or picnic."
Jakes said "braai and a picnic, are we doing both?"
Laura said "babe, im just thinking of doing something outdoors."
Jakes said "okay I was just kidding."
