章節 14: Chapter 14
"Welcome back to school, " Sikowitz said, bored of the introduction.
"Anyways, " he said in a more enthusiastic tone, " I have the results for the cast of the play, "
"The person playing Marius in Les Miserables is, the one, the only, drumroll please, "
We all hit the table, the sound getting gradually louder and faster.
"Beck!"
All the males slumped in their chairs and groaned. Well, they probably expected that, since Beck always got the roles.
"Next up, the lovely lady playing Cosette, see what I did there, " he smirked, "Jade!"
Everyone looked at Jade, scared that she would murder him during the play. However, Jade seemed not to care, and I thought I even saw a ghost of a smile on her face.
The roles were given out and I was cast as Eponine, my favorite character. Cat was cast as Fantine, which was definitely weird. Robbie was cast as Jean Valjean. Tori wasn't even cast because she hasn't done the Bird Test.
"Ooh, yay! I get to be Jade's mom!" Cat giggled excitedly.
Cat immediately went up to hug Jade, but Jade kicked her foot out to prevent Cat from getting any closer. I stared at the odd interaction. Good grief. Does that mean in the story I was going to be a character that based all her decisions on her love for Marius? Huh, how strange.

For my scene, I was supposed to jump in front of Marius, sing and die. Well, that could only turn out wonderful.
"3, 2, 1, action!" Sikowitz yelled into the megaphone, his voice amplified by a hundred times. I flinched at the loudness but continued nevertheless.
I ran from the side of the stage all the way in front of Beck, throwing myself in front of him. Then I realized, I was falling onto the ground.
Goodbye world.
I landed with a huge thump, and underneath clothes, there was bound to be a big black bruise waiting for me. I grimaced, but continued with my lines, at least it would be more realistic now.
"Don't you fret, Monsieur Marius
I don't feel any pain, " I beamed.
Oh, I definitely felt pain. I could only think to myself at that moment.
"A little fall of rain
Can hardly hurt me now, " I sighed.
"You're here, that's all I need to know
And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close
And the rain will make the flowers grow, " I sang. My voice strained to sound in tune while I was genuinely dying.
"But you will live, 'Ponine - dear God above
If I could close your wounds with words of love, " Beck kneeled down and held my body. My heart practically did backflips when his fingers even grazed against my body. God, what was wrong with me?
"Just hold me now, and let it be
Shelter me, comfort me, " I touched his hair.
"So don't you fret, Monsieur Marius
I don't feel any pain
A little fall of rain
Can hardly hurt me now
I'm here
That's all I need to know
And you will keep me safe, "
"And I will stay with you,
Til you are sleeping,"
"And you will keep me close
And rain,"
"And rain,"
"Will make the flowers
Will make the flowers grow, "
When I sang the final words, my body gave up and I collapsed.
"Cut!" Sikowotz screamed into the megaphone.
I screeched at the noise and rolled off stage. A sharp pain hit my other side of my body.
"Ow..." I groaned.
Apparently, people found my pain funny.
