Yielya gripped her staff.
Turning to the party she said, "It's a game, so what if we start over? We can work back up to this point, it can be even faster since we know what we are doing."
Kan'na took a breath, "You're not wrong. . . then we assist him?"
The party agreed, so what if they start over? A fresh new start? They had started from nothing before, they could do it again. With their knowledge of this game, starting over wasn't that huge.
Kan'na began forming magic circles, "We are going to need everything we have. . . Akiol cannot stand forever, we have about a minute to a minute and a half before his buffs run out. At that point we are going to hit this guy with everything we have. Prepare yourselves."
The party nodded and began their preparations.
Akiol dodge a blow by sliding to the side. Every movement he made he had to calculate the next possible moves Rygeth would take. Every dodge was made in mind of the next attack, leaving him with additional time to dodge it again. His brain worked in overdrive, he even used the old technique {Mind Cleansing}. Ever since he broke into {Hyperfocused Battle Intensity} he realized that he could actually control the sense that was taken. However this require immense concentration and a bit of luck.
It seems luck was on his side, for his taste was taken. This left him with all his senses he required to fight. Taste provided little in battle, so the benefits outweighed the odds this time.
Akiol's vision blurred, his mind was growing exhausted rapidly. However he fought on. He wasn't sure how long he had been dodging, but he didn't plan on stopping.
Half a minute passed as Akiol dodged through Rygeth's attacks. The Immortal seemed to be growing bored.
Rygeth began to speed up his attacks. Making Akiol unable to fully dodge these. Slowly his body was being torn apart from the blows. Akiol felt no pain from the attacks, but it was unnerving.
Rygeth suddenly commented, "That's right, Slimes are partially immune to damage. However in exchange their core is their massive weakness."
Rygeth began aiming his attacks towards Akiol's core. Akiol's mind kicked further into overdrive as he began to finely tune his slime via [Body Manipulation]. His body began to look like abstract art as he controlled it. His core began to be tossed about within his body, but it was required to survive.
Akiol felt like his body was about to fall into a puddle. His mind began to feel sluggish. He had manipulated every millimeter of his slime body to the finest detail. Every movement was similar to before, he guessed Rygeth's future movements based on his own. Hundreds if not thousands of different outcomes shot through his mind. His mental exhaustion was incredible. He was teetering on the edge of collapsing.
Rygeth grunted, hundreds of afterimages of his hands shot forward. Akiol forcefully executed [Dimension Dive]. He had planned to use this to escape once his party had. However he was too focused on evading the attacks to see if they had already.
The afterimages faded. Rygeth extended a hand, a rune formed in front of it. Rygeth thrust his hand forward and shattered something.
The last thing Akiol saw was a hand that pierced into his dimension, and tightly gripped his core.

Wrock hung up the call and sighed. It was troublesome dealing with the old owner's problems. However he felt like he had a responsibility to take over these, now that he had taken over their life.
He checked the time, it was a few minutes earlier that he expected. Shrugging he figured he could grab a cup of water before heading back into the game.
As he left his room his phone vibrated, a notification appeared from the group chat.
Yielya: Emergency, log in as soon as possible!
It was a shame Wrock didn't bring his phone with him. . .

Yielya saw Akiol's face as he reappeared from somewhere. Immediately her heart rate accelerated, not because his core was grasped. Or that he may have finally lost. Instead it was because of his facial expression. He didn't seem to care that his core was taken, in fact his face held zero emotion. He was unmoving. . .
She had seen this once before, in her past world. Akiol had overworked his mind past his limits to win a battle. Because of this his mind forcefully shutdown and he fell into a coma. If she hadn't sat over him and treated him carefully, he wouldn't have woken up as soon as he did. It took her three days of careful operation to bring him back. However she was unaware how long it would take if she wasn't there. Would he never wake up again?
She quickly notified the party, "Akiol is in far more danger! I need to log out now and get him some help. I'll leave the rest to you!"
She quickly continued, "Bart!"
The man's face appeared on a digital screen, "How may I be of assistance?"
She hurriedly explained, "My party member Akiol is in a very bad state. I need him logged out immediately so I can call an ambulance."
Bart frowned, "I am not able to forcefully log out players by request. However I shall check his status. . ."
Bart searched through Akiol's information. Due to Bart being an A.I. he was able to read through this in less than a second. Immediately he noticed something wrong. The brain response from Akiol was nearly zero! He issued an emergency protocol and attempted to forcefully logout Akiol. However an error appeared. This froze the A.I. for a fraction of a second. They had full control over the game, what was this error?
Bart was unable to fix issues like this, immediately he followed up the emergency protocol by contacting the developers. . .
A concerned woman appeared, "What is the issue Bart?"
Bart spoke quickly, "Check the status of player ID: #AE7746D8. Very little brain response, and I am unable to log them out."
The woman frowned and immediately checked the issue. She then noticed the player's abnormal state in-game. It was because of this that Bart was unable to log out the player. This was a bug, a bug that might just cost them their game. . .

Rygeth inspected the core, it intrigued him. Slimes were extremely rare these days, so he hadn't found a core before. Yet after a bit of inspection he grew satisfied and decided to crush it.
Bzzzt-!
Lightning crackled and struck him. Rygeth was unaffected, however it temporarily stopped him from crushing the core. Instead he tossed it aside, it rolled through the snow and stopped near the edge.
Kan'na fired off a beam. It was her strongest attack, the obliteration cannon. Rygeth was mildly intimidated by the powerful attack.
He stuck his hands forward and stopped the beam. The beam continued to try and push forward, however it couldn't continue.
Slowly the beam faded, Rygeth then charged forward to eliminate Kan'na.
At this point Yielya shouted, "Hold them off for thirty seconds! Only then can I log out!"
Logging out during combat was heavily limited. The user had to agree to a list of conditions before they could trigger the log out during combat.
The conditions could be explained simply, the player would 'die' and respawn to their last visited city. However they would lost twice the normal amount. Moreover it required thirty seconds for it to fully trigger.
This thirty second timer would be removed the moment the headset detected a serious alert. Such as water level increasing, smoke, and various effects that may harm the user. However none of these were happening to Yielya.
Tilia received the blow from Rygeth. Her shield bent inwards, her HP decreased. Yet she remained still. Her eyes held a fire, the party leader was in danger. The man who has taken her into his party when her own race tossed her aside. She trusted Yielya to help, all she had to do was hold down the fort for thirty seconds!
She couldn't let him pass. . . No, she wouldn't let him pass!
A strange brown and orange energy radiated off her. Like she was encased in plastic of the color. Rygeth grew frustrated at the party, these little ants held very little power. Yet they just wouldn't die!
He began barraging Tilia. Her shield cracked and bent from the blows. Eventually it shattered into pieces. Yet she didn't falter, instead he guarded the attacks with her own body.
Rygeth slammed his foot into her ribs, yet she didn't budge. He grew angry, "Fly away!
An energy coated his fist and he slammed it into her. Her HP dropped to 1, and stayed there.
He gripped her shoulders and threw her into a boulder. A rune appeared and several rings formed around her limbs, preventing her from moving.
Rygeth spat, "Stay still while I deal with your friends!"
Tilia struggled to free herself, yet to no avail. However she relaxed, she had completed her job. For Yielya had turned into a set of white lines, and vanished.
