[Warning: this chapter is an infodump. If you don't like these, don't read this novel. (more will be included in future chapters).]
(Unknown location and time)
{Instalation complete, The System is now online}
"What was that!" I thought, looking into the vast blackness that I could now somehow feel, "and where am I."
{Host, you may refer to me as the system, and you're in a mother's womb.}
"Wait. What!" I questioned, feeling a little dubious, "what are you."
{I'm a system tasked with helping the user develop and industrialize the world you will soon be a part of}
"Ok," I answered, "why are you in my head, and how can you read my thoughts?"
{I cannot answer these questions now, but I can tell you that an undisclosed person chose you for this position due to having the mental fortitude and intelligence.}
"I can tell that this is going nowhere," I said, "so can you tell me a bit about this world that I have supposedly reincarnated into?"
{The world you're now in is currently unnamed. You will be born into the country of Zeeland as the third prince. Zeeland is a relatively weak country in the scheme of things and has an extensive coastline. You can learn about more countries in the future, or you may purchase the world map to find out more about Zeeland and other countries in the region.}
"Well, that's not much information," I replied, annoyed that there was not any more information available, "anyway, what is this world map function."
{The world map is one of the level one System Powers. System Powers are a function of the system that gives the user abilities beyond the possibilities of humans. You can purchase these with system points.}
"Ok, I may look into these in the future," I answered somewhat excitedly, "what exactly are system points."
{System Points are a currency that the user can use to purchase certain system functions and other things. You can also earn system points.}
"How can I earn system points?" I asked.
{You can earn system points from completing system missions and creating new technologies.}
"Now, what are system missions?" I asked, "and can you please explain everything about them quickly."
{System missions are quests that the system gives the user SP (system points) and other things such as knowledge of technologies and certain system functions. There are two types of missions, main missions, and side missions. Main missions are essential missions that are needed to complete the objective of developing the world. They're required to be completed, but have long time periods until then. The punishment for not completing these missions is complete disintegration and destruction of the soul. Side missions are missions that you do not need to complete because they aren't essential for the primary goal. The only outliers are urgent side missions since they could jeopardize the completion of the objective. Also, the user starts with 5000 SP.}
"Let me guess you forgot the last part didn't you," I joked, laughing in my head, "on a more serious tone, do I have any missions."
{You currently don't have any missions, but you will receive some at birth}
"I have one more question for right now," I said, "will I ever be able to go back to my old world or even see my family."
{Yes, when completing the objective, you will return to earth at the same time you died there. Of course only if you wish to do so.}
I continued to ask questions and learned that I would be leaving the womb in about a month.
I was starting to believe what this system said, mostly because I had no other information to use. Now I had to plan for the future and try to collect all my memories about engineering.
Now that I know that I may be able to see my family and friends again, I was willing to do this quest and develop the world. The only problem was that I was not sure I could do it. Looking through what I would likely have to do, It seemed almost impossible with all the challenges that would probably present themselves.
I decided not to give the system a name as it would be easier just to call it the system whenever I needed to.
As I continued to plan for the future and look through my memories, I came upon a shocking realization. I remembered everything as if my mind was photographic, and my learning capability was amazingly fast!
Hi, SunkenSpaceMan here. I hoped you liked the chapter (even though it was a bit of an info dump). I will continue to write chapters, and I'm having my family members help edit as well.
I know that Zeeland is a region of the Netherlands and other places, and please don't be mad at me for being unoriginal. I'm not the best with names.
Again, if anyone has any good ideas for the novel, please comment. I may include them or even change some of the names of people or places.
Thank you for reading chapter two!
