''I die.'' 

It is meant to be a joke but the expression on his face tells me that he didn't take it as one. His eyes suddenly become very red, in a swift moment. His breathing is heavy, his chest rises and falls and I watch him, unsure of what to say. 

''What does that even mean, why would you die?'' 

''It was a joke, I won't die. I just won't succeed in getting the desired effect. I am only strong when I am with an Alpha,'' I blurt out because I don't want to get him upset. 

He stands up from the couch and I watch him walk out of the room. I don't know what is going on but I hate myself for upsetting him because I don't want him to leave me. I want him next to me, I like talking to him. This is not what I intended. After a few minutes of battling with myself internally, he walks back to the room and his face is blank. The anger that was surfacing seems to have vanished.
