After explaining to his friends that he wasn't proficient in memorizing places and events, they stopped pestering him about his extremely low scores in history and geography. Of course, they weren't completely convinced, but they shrugged it off in the end.
"So, Weiwei, have you thought of a punishment yet?"
"Erm, gimme a day. I'll think of one tomorrow."
"Sure, delay it as much as you can~" Lan Xiang felt blissful when he learned that she couldn't think of anything. It was better for him that way.
"Okay, Xifa, let's go! You know the drill."
Lu Xifa sighed. He's gonna be refining pills again? It's too hot there. He's lucky he can control water... Wait a minute!
Her eyes widened. She had forgotten to ask him about his control of two elements!
"Wait, Xiang! I have something to ask of you."
"Hm? What is it?"
"Well, it's just that... how can you control both the fire and water elements?" Lu Xifa hesitated.
"!!!" Lan Xiang turned serious. "How did you find out?"
"Erm, uh..."
His stern voice had startled Lu Xifa. "You, you used fire element to beat Ning Luoxue up, right? Then you used the water element to refine pills!"
"Ah..." Lan Xiang realized he had been careless. "Hm, it should be fine to tell you, you can keep a secret or two, right?"
"Ah, mhm, sure." Lu Xifa became enthusiastic. The prospect of a secret shared only between the two of them excited her.
"Apart from Jian'er, no one knows about this."
Ah. Lu Xifa's fantasy shattered.
Lan Xiang looked left and right, before whispering to Lu Xifa, "Actually, I can control all of the elements."
Lu Xifa's jaw dropped. "Y, you, what??"
"Aiya, I knew you would be shocked. That's why it's a secret. No one else can know about this, okay?"
"Th, that... That's ridiculous! Prove it!" Lu Xifa was still in disbelief. She could believe it if he said he could control two elements, the ones she saw him use, but he dropped a bomb on her and claimed that he could use every single one!
"Hm, okay, let's head to the garden."
Ye Qingle and the others noticed the two of them leaving. "Huh? Where are you two going?"
"Um, we're headed to the capital again."
"Ah, then I'll pass. It's too hot there. Goodbye." Ye Qingle waved her hand.
"Me too, I'll stay." Ren Weiwei could still remember how hot it was.
Looks like she didn't remember. Lu Xifa shook her head towards Ren Weiwei. They had both planned on asking him about the elements but only she remembered to do so.
"Ah, I'll come with!" Zhang Xiaoqin was excited.
Laughing wryly, Lan Xiang whispered to Lu Xifa once more. "Looks like I'll have to delay my demonstration."
Lu Xifa turned her head away.
The three headed to the garden. There, they noticed a bookish student that they didn't recognize sitting on a bench, reading.
"Ah, let's be quiet this time." Lan Xiang shushed the noisy Zhang Xiaoqin.
Lu Xifa sighed as she opened a rift on the ground. Lan Xiang came first, Zhang Xiaoqin second, with Lu Xifa closing the rift after her entrance.
.....
Han Jiu, a studious girl, walking along the school.
Not once in her life had she believed in the supernatural, such as ghosts and the like. And yet, these past two days were eye-opening for her.
In both of those days, she saw an apparition's hair in the restroom, whether it be floating in the room or resting on the ground, after which it would disappear.
Her friend tried to convince her that she was just hallucinating, a result of the countless horror films she had watched over the weekend.
Regardless, she became too terrified to head to the restrooms because of this.
She stopped her feet and took in the scent.
The garden, ah. A peaceful place.
She would always read her books here, as it relaxed her brain and body every time.
As usual, she sat on the bench just beside the bushes.
Rustle, rustle.
Han Jiu stood up! Her feet became terribly wobbly, her mind too alert of everything.
When she saw that it was just a tiny brown squirrel, she took a deep breath and sighed, sitting back down.
Her mind became immersed in reading once more.
Rustle, rustle.
She didn't register the sound. It was probably another squirrel, she thought.
That was, until, she heard a voice. A female voice, a voice of resignation.
She pulled her attention away from the book and into the surroundings. The possibility of it just being another female student crossed her mind, but her curiosity was unstoppable.
Taking a peek, she saw...
A faint female figure falling through the ground.
The female wore the same uniform as she did.
Ye Jiu closed her book, her heart beating rapidly. She ran for it, ran like her life depended on it!
The ghost! She had seen it! In its full form, before disappearing into the grass.
.....
Luo Zi Da scratched his head. He still wasn't over what had happened yesterday.
The Qi Appraisal Device, suddenly sliced into two.
He was scolded by the principal and was made to pay for it.
"Aiya, but it wasn't my fault, I really didn't do anything."
He recalled that the massive crevice only appeared once a student of his pointed it out. Or maybe, he just didn't notice it.
In any case, it wasn't his fault. "Tsk, I even told the principal that there were ghosts in this school. Ha, ghosts? That's just stupid."
All of a sudden, a student ran frantically through the hallway. There wasn't enough time before...
"Ah!" "Ouch!"
Both him and the student fell over.
On second glance, Luo Zi Da recognized her. "Student Han? What are you doing, running around the hallway like that?"
"Teacher!" Han Jiu looked at Luo Zi Da with desperation. "In the restroom! In the garden! A ghost! I saw it!"
"A ghost?"
"A ghost!"
Luo Zi Da widened his eyes. A ghost, that's right! It wasn't me!
