Peridot wands contain one or more peridots or peridot cabochons: a large one for the wand's end cap, a small one at the wand's tip, or small ones along the wand's length.
Peridot
Peridot is a gemstone from the olivine mineral group, whereby the bottle green color is peridot, the yellowish green is chrysolite, and the olive green is olivine. Chemically, peridot is an iron-magnesium-silicate with the chemical formula (Fe,Mg)2SiO4. The relative amounts of iron and magnesium cause minor variations in color with more magnesium making it somewhat greener and more iron making it somewhat more yellowish. The color of peridot is also influenced by the amount trace elements such as titanium and nickel. The best peridot is a deep green with a slight golden hue.
