Zed is eager to learn the skills he bought, and slap the blond girl's servant on his face to tell him that Zed deserved to be a knight.
Zed spends the night reading and memorizing The new skill he got from the auction, while Fabiola is comprehending Water Frevor with the Water Pill.
The 'Spear Throw of The Legendary Sniping General' skill consists of technique to throw a spear the right way, control of breathing, balancing the spear's weight, how to throw different kinds of spears, and many else.
What makes this skill different, and more powerful than other spear throw skills is that this skill if mastered will have a greater penetrating power that focuses on one spot by twisting the spear while throwing it, so the spear will spin and cut through the wind perfectly.
Zed has an excellent memory and can memorize the whole book in one night.
Because of dwelling himself in the book, the sun has risen to its peak.
Fabiola ends her training after looking at Zed standing up from the couch.
Zed opens up the conversation by saying, "Let's go house shopping!"
Fabiola replied, "You're planning to stay here?"
"No, this place will be my safehouse and a place where you will live. So you will pick the house I'm just gonna stand beside you" Zed explained.
'You are the one who wants to buy a house but you dumped all of the choices to me' she mumbled with a faint smile on her face.
To buy a house or a mansion in this era, one must go to the Urban House Merchant that is usually located in the center of the city to buy a mansion of that kind, or on the outskirts of the city to buy a regular house or even abandoned house.
Zed and Fabiola first go to the center urban merchant because water crystal is in the central area and it is nearer than the outskirts.
The Urban House Merchant is a two stories building that is almost empty every day because houses or mansions are usually inherited from their parents and nobody buys a house anymore except for alchemists or merchants for their purposes.
Inside the Urban House Merchant, there are only two people there.
One is sleeping in the counter and the other is cleaning the place.
Walking to the counter, Zed exhales forcibly to try and wake the man up, "Ehemm".
The sleeping man is not budging, while the girl who is cleaning chuckled a little bit.
Zed then clears his throat to make a bigger sound, "EKHMM!", the sound made is so loud that it's like Zed is shouting.
The sleeping man jumped from his seat startled.
He then said with a happy face, "Welcome customers, my name is Malculms. How may I help you today?".
"I want to buy a mansion if possible," said Zed with a straight expression on his face.
After saying that, Zed eyed Fabiola signing to pick the mansion.
Malculms replied with a bright smile on his face, "Of course if I may ask what is your purpose? are you perhaps a merch--".
Just as Malculms wanted to say 'merchant', suddenly Zed spits on the ground.
Malculms and Fabiola are confused, 'Did I say something wrong' malculms thought.
Fabiola takes the stage by asking Malculms to show the mansions available.
Malculms take them for a walk towards all the mansions available and tell them about the price that is cheaper than other cities and they will get this and that.
Every time that Malculms show a mansion, Zed always suddenly spit to the ground.
Feeling puzzled and curious at the same time, Fabiola dragged Zed away from Malculms and then ask, "What are you doing? don't you like the mansions?".
"I don't like them at all! all the mansions has a wall surrounding it. I don't like it, I can be the wall of my home"* After inhaling a deep breath he then continued, "And also that guy talks like an Athenian".
Spartans strictly don't allow their man to learn anything but to fight and kill. They always hate Athenians' commercial power and democracy. Zed read it in many Spartan customs books and naturally, know how an Athenians speak that prioritize monetary power.
"Why do you hate Athenians anyway or are you perhaps a follower of Spartans or Thebes?"Fabiola asked.
"I am only interested in the way of living as a Spartans." while straightening his body to look epic and convincing.
Finishing their little talk, Fabiola than choose a Mansion near The Draddat Household because it has a big training ground for Zed and an underground escape route told by Malculms after Zed purchase it for three hundred thousand gold.
The Draddat Household is one of the noble households in Eplodon city.
Zed keep whining to Fabiola to destroy the wall or at least make it shorter, Fabiola smacks Zed's head and decline it.
They bought the mansion with the furniture inside it. The mansion is a well-fortified four stories building, the insides of the mansion are spacious, noble-ish, and highly comfortable with a man-made beautiful fireplace to relax.
Settling down to the mansion, Zed asked if Fabiola wants to be in the same room with him.
Fabiola accepts after a moment of hesitation, 'well what's the worst that could happen' she thought.
Zed made rules for the mansion that applied to Fabiola, the first rule is to always Train her body in the morning. The second rule is that all golds gathered by Zed and Fabiola will be stored on one big concealed room, can only be taken when it is necessary and the amount has to be precise.
Hearing Zed's rule, Fabiola can only shake her head 'What a maniac' she thought.
The day passed, the training starts from when the sun has just rose.
"Wake Up!! We need to train now let's go!" Said Zed with an excited look on his face, He is excited because he will have a training partner.
Fabiola is yawning while lazily waking up from the bed, "Fine, I'm going to get ready"
"Even though you are a mage, you cannot forget to train your body it will be helpful," said Zed to motivate Fabiola.
Little did Zed knows that this training will make Fabiola have an edge against other mages and open up new path nobody tried before.
The training consist of endurance training like running with heavyweights, strength training but Fabiola will focus more on her leg, agility training will be added soon when the equipment is bought.
During the first day of training, Fabiola already complains because of how intense it was.
Fabiola rarely trains her body due to being a mage, In this era mages only focus on their comprehension and never train their body making them weak if they don't have their magic.
"Zed" pant "Can you" pant "tone it down" pant "A little..?" said Fabiola in-between labored breaths due to the intense training.
"Nope you have to do this kind of intense training" replied Zed nonchalantly, He didn't even look that tired.
Zed return to his original plan to assimilate with Speed Frevor to achieve Noble Knight Rank. So in between his running exercise, he will push himself to the limit and absorb Speed Frevor.
With those days passed, Zed and Fabiola spend their time training in their body, skills, and trying to breakthrough their respective ranks.
Then in a blink of an eye, The day the banquet is held has arrived.
* In Spartan customs, King Agesilaus like all Spartans wasn't a fan of walls made of brick and stone believing that a city is defended by its men, not its fortification. King Agesilaus always point at his men every time someone asked him where is Spartans wall.
