章節 81: Close enemies

Morwenna let's out a sigh and her shoulders hang in a way that make me wonder what else is going on with her. But I tamp that thought down, I don't want to sympathize with the woman in front of me that has hurt and weakened me. I shouldn't give excuses for her actions. I'm just not that forgiving at the moment. 

With the turmoil going on inside of me, I just don't have that in me right now. 

"No one can know, Layla. You will not last long if someone was to find out. We need to remove one of the factions from your blood, or you may not survive this place." 

"Why?" I ask. The threats on my life just bounce off me like air. It's meaningless at this point. I have lost too much already, and without the tethers that keep me rooted to this world, I am not afraid to leave it any longer. Untethered, I am released from those burdens. I am free.
