Sam gave the Mewtwonite X to Mewtwo and then started mega evolution and rays of light flashed. Soon Mega Mewtwo X appeared infront of everyone.
Professor Oak provided the basic data of Mewtwo to the team and they started recording data. Half an hour passed and all the data was collected.
Sam rested for an hour again and took back Mewtwonite X and gave Mewtwonite Y to Mewtwo and started the process of mega evolution. The rays of light flashed by and Mega Mewtwo Y appeared in front of everyone.
People recorded the data of second form of mega evolution of Mewtwo as well. As soon as data was recorded, Sam released the state of mega evolution.
"Two different species of pokemon have two different type of mega evolution. This can be used as a solid base to the theory that all pokemons can have more than one type of mega evolution just we have yet to find corresponding mega stone for them." Professor Sycamore has already made a draft for his theory.
By the evening, Gengar's mega evolution data has also been recorded. Then they all had dinner together and discussed about research topics.
Professor Sycamore suddenly asked Sam, "Sam, what are your thoughts about mega evolution? What do you think can induce a temporary evolution of pokemons?" Everyone looked towards Sam waiting for his answer.
"There are two possibilities, I called the first one 'Returning to Ancestor' and second one 'Gene Lock'. In first theory, the ancient pokemons have gradually changed their body structure in the passage of time and mega stones and keystones can give pokemon enough energy to awaken the strength in their blood and return to their ancient form but the energy is not sufficient to let them maintain the form forever.
In second theory, all the pokemons evolve due to having enough energy to unlock the genetic lock of there bodies. Some pokemons require the use of evolution stones is also break the genetic lock in their bodies with the help of energy contained in evolution stones. The mega evolution is also breaking the next genetic lock after the final evolution of pokemons with the help of energy of megastone and keystone. But still the energy is not sufficient to stabilize the broken gene lock and fix the body shape thus reverting back to its original form as soon as supply of energy is interrupted."
"Your viewpoint is really unique. Both theories are suitable for explaining phenomenon of mega evolution. But which one do you personally prefer." said Sycamore.
"I personally prefer the Gene Lock theory as it can effectively explain the multiple mega evolution of single species of pokemon." said Sam.
After the dinner, Sam returned to his home and went to his room as he was quite tired today. 'System show the achievement which completed durin the day.'

For next few days Sycamore and his team stayed at Pallet town and kept collecting different data about the changes that happened to pokemon after mega evolution.
They discovered that when a pokemon has two different mega evolution they would also have two different type set. The previously discovered Charizard mega evolution didn't have a change in type but the mega stone that Sam found for Charizard can change its type to Dragon from Flying. Similarly Mewtwo also remained pure Psychic in case whereas it turned Psychic and Fighting type in other.
These observed things further proved the correctness of Sam's 'Gene Lock' theory as pokemons can have two different gene locks in their body but can't have different type of ancestors in ancient time.
