After posing for a few minutes, the Duck Piercing Gentleman grandly returned to the group. "Now that the sword has been returned to its rightful owner, let's begin the silent auction. I don't think the auction will be interesting with just two items so I'll add another," the old spirit said. In the former location of the sword, a beautiful crown appeared.
"Allow me to introduce the items on auction. First, we have the Ambushing Shark Knife. This level four medium grade knife is good for anyone needing to surprise their enemy with a swift attack. It's made with a level two chameleon beast core and a level four alloy blade of Gargoyle stone and Loach Steal. It can camouflage, strikes fast, and it's hard to intercept.
Next, we have a level four high-grade Four-Skill Crown this is probably the most powerful of the three artifacts. It has the ability to increase magic output by thirty percent and decreasing the use of manna in all spells by twenty percent. It can also store up to four skill attacks. The default four skills it currently stores is the Hidden Flying Knife Attack, Arrow Curve, Mage Shield, and Heal All an area heal skill. All four skills are level four medium-grade skills and they can be used continuously depending on the wearer's spiritual energy level. Everyone's eyes lit up. It is also to exchange these skills for another level four medium-grade skills.
This was truly the best of the three treasures. The knife was suited for warriors, assassins, and beast tamers. Anyone could use it, but it was most suited as an assassin's weapon. The bow and arrow were only for those skilled in the bow. The Four-Skill Crown, anyone here would experience an exceptional powerup if they were able to acquire it.
Finally, we have Ultimate Power Bow a level four medium-grade artifact with forty level 2 basic-grade Shadow Arrows. The Ultimate Power Bow increases vision and precision by an amazing forty percent. The bow's strings, made from a steal rubber alloy, called Strubber, can increase the power of your shot by nearly fifty percent. It also comes with an innate effect called Power Shot which will activate every tenth shot in a series. The Power Shot will imbue any arrow you use with explosive power on contact with the target.
The rules to the silent auction are for each person to place their hand on the pedestal and infuse their bid into the pillar. Once everyone is done, we'll see who has won. Everyone who intends to participate in the auction must deposit a level three medium-grade artifact or ten high-grade spirit stones. When you wish to place a bid, place a level two medium-grade artifacts or five spirit stones on the pedestal to make your bid. If you want to change your bid, you must deposit either an additional five high-grade spirit stones or one level two medium-grade artifact. The artifacts and spirit stones can be deposited in front of any of the three artifacts in the auction on the bidding pedestal.
"So, even to make one bid we must pay one level three medium-grade artifact or ten high-grade spirit stones plus a level two medium-grade artifact or five high-grade spirit stones?" the ax carrying weapon master said with a grumble. The old ghost looked at the upset weapons master and asked, "Are you dissatisfied? Do you think these artifacts aren't worth such a pitiful deposit?" The weapons master seemed surprised, "not at all sir, I was just confirming. Everything is very reasonable," he said forcing a smile.
"As long as none of you get greedy, you could possibly get these treasures at a very low cost, remember, these artifacts have been unavailable in these parts for at least one hundred years," the old ghost said. It sounded like he was telling everyone they could get these treasures on the cheap, but in reality, he was reviving them up to encourage bidding frenzy. These treasures were unavailable in the entire region. Even if someone had the money, could they even buy these treasures? In the hearts of every person present, they knew they had to get every treasure they could, especially that crown. Even if they bought something they couldn't use, wouldn't they be able to resell it at an even more insane price? Greedy lights flashed in everyone's eyes.
A different, crafty look, flashed in Xan's eyes. He understood this silent object was his first step in "buying" the other eleven sects. The explanation of the rules only required a little focus on the part of the ancestor and Xan. During the explanation, Xan began to expound on his initial idea for the silent auction and briefly hinted at his future plans. "First, we'll have the people spend all of their money and resources on a little bit of grain. Eventually, they'll sell themselves gratefully when they see death staring them in the face," he laughed.
If these were decent people, he wouldn't take so much advantage of them. These weren't decent people, however, they were vultures, with dark hearts who would kill a defenseless kid for looking at them wrong. What pity did they deserve? Their disciples were joyously stealing the things of the dead. Did the dead need them? Of course not, but did they come to bury the dead and treat them as a human being deserved? Absolutely not, after their looting, they would leave the dead to rot in the sun and let the animals devour their flesh. Before he is done, Xan would make all of these "upright" guilds and sects his slaves. At least he would treat them as human beings once they came under him.
Xan hid his dark intentions deep within his heart and continued to play the guileless Hitchens Redstone until Gene Alexander was ready to take the stage again!
The ancestor ghost pretended to clear his throat after finishing his explanation, "Are there any questions?" No one said anything. They were ready to get these treasures! If they could get any one of these items how much would their power increase? What if they could get that crown? Wouldn't they be the king of the region eventually?
Everyone turned their panting eyes to the ancestor ghost begging him to begin. Even the Duck Piercing Gentleman who already received priceless treasures for nothing couldn't contain the greed in his heart. The more desperate, excited, and impatient these people looked; the bigger the hidden smile in Xan's heart grew. "Otrera, have you prepared the information I asked you for?" he sent a mental question to Otrera. "Yes, all information you have is ready for the player.
The system Xan created wasn't as strict as other systems. It was only strict as far as the construction of his new powerful body went. It was liberal towards everything else. Whatever Xan wished to know, the system would tell him so long as it didn't interfere with the ultimate plans he originally created the system to accomplish. Few people realized that when he said he would acquire the knowledge of the twenty-four num galaxies and then succeeded; was success meant the downloading of this knowledge into his system. As much of a peerless genius he was, his human brain was insufficient to contain so much knowledge. Only an artificial being could help him build a body and brain capable of making all of that knowledge his.
The Ancestor Ghost took in the impatient looks and smiled inside. He didn't know of Xan's great schemes, he only knew the little Xan told him. He understood that soon the Superior Crafting Guild would surpass the pinnacle of excellence it was once known for. These greedy little vultures were the key to their future success. With a smile spreading across his face, the ancestor announced: "Let the silent auction begin!"
