Whatever Alex had been expecting to hear, it certainly wasn't that. He had already known his friend was at least slightly reluctant to become a father in the first place—he hadn't been all that excited when Karli announced it—but he hadn't realized how far it went.
"There isn't anything I can do about it either," Cody continued angrily. "They're coming whether I want them to or not. Probably early since the doctor says multiples tend to be premature. So they're going to be spending time in the NICU and who knows how expensive that will be even with insurance.
"We live in a one-bedroom apartment! We're going to have to move to a three-bedroom since we're having two girls and a boy. My job pays well but is it going to be enough to take care of three babies at once? Everything I've read says even one is expensive!
