章節 15: Back at the apartment: part II

"What do you mean 'am I single?!'" Emily said as she half-choked on popcorn.

"Just...You know, therapist reasons." Chloe began to blush.

"Uh huh. Right..." Emily could tell that she was lying.

"Technically, you aren't even my therapist anymore." Emily said with a smug look on her face, before popping a piece of popcorn in her mouth.

"Heh, yeah, you're right. Just...Forget I asked." She blushed again.

By the time they had finished watching the rest of Titanic, Chloe had fallen asleep. Emily sat up and gently lifted Chloe's head off of her lap. Then, she turned off the projector, and slid it under the coffee table with all of her CDs. After that, she grabbed the sheet off of the wall, folded it up, and put it on the table. She then took their popcorn bowls out to the kitchen, rinsed them off, and set them in the dishrack. She proceeded to pick her blanket up off of the floor and drape it over top of Chloe. Then, she lowered her face down to Chloe's forehead, and kissed it gently. As she did, Chloe's eyes fluttered open, but not the whole way.

"Mmmm. What 'cha doin'?" She said groggily.

"I'm cleaning up. You looked cold, so I gave you my blanket. I was just about to head back to my room, but if you want the bed, by all means, take it. I'm perfectly fine with sleeping on the couch" Emily replied. At this point, she was crouched down so that her eyes were at the same level as Chloe's.

"I think I'm gonna stay here. You take the bed." She smiled before letting out a small yawn.

"Okay. Goodnight. If you need anything- anything at all- you know where to find me." Emily smiled before standing up, and walking back to her bedroom. She lifted one leg onto her bed at a time, and the obnoxious bed springs creaked loudly when she did so. She then pulled the comforter op to her face, curled up into a ball, and closed her eyes. Some time later, she heart the quiet pitter patter of toes on her hardwood bedroom floor. Then, she heard the sound of the bed springs creaking. A warm hand grasped hers, and their fingers became intertwined. Emily could feel Chloe's warm breath, and smell the lavender shampoo in her hair as she placed her face closer to Emily's.

"Goodnight, Emily. I hope we can do this again sometime" She had a very warm and welcoming tone to her voice.

"Me too." Emily whispered back.
