章節 71: Chapter 71: Proof of Unchanging Blackness
Cyrus knew her from childhood. She was beautiful and generous in her own way. She defends him in ways that Cyrus never imagined she would. She was in love with him not until it turned into obsession. Her proactive and overreactions toward him was annoying, irritating and tiring. Yet Cyrus sticked with her because she was his first love. Because he thought that she will eventually grow and be mature. But then their love was fruitless.
Cyrus tried to patch the gap but she decided to break it off. He did his best not to blame her. When he heared her decision he was intentionally happy. Maybe because his love for her got worn out, but no, he did not tend it on purpose. He started to steal the time that he meant for her. He started to purposely forget the morning camellia he would personaly reap for her. He just did nothing and maybe it was his ugly side. He rob of the spring that is meant for her.
When she ended thier relationship and parted ways with him. He put on the mask of indifference. He did not even lift a finger to stop her or to run after her. He just watched her walk out from the door he opened for her. Cyrus went to a quest to ease the pain throbbing within his heart. There, he met his unique friend and had established his influence. Cyrus became the head of the homeless people he met on the way.
There were people who aided, betrayed and died on the course of journey. Yet Cyrus choosed to move forward. When he heared about the abuse she was receiving from her current husband. His heart wrenched. He was the worst for not protecting the spot she provided for him. Yet, right when he thought his heart got healed the familiar ache float out. He thought that the space she screwed in his heart got mended by Gardenia and his son but he was wrong. Whenever that person frequent his mind their memories flashes visually to his present life.
Cyrus heared about her consulting a witch and transforming into a demon. That was the time he cracked his shell. He abandoned her. He hated himself for a moment and realised that he never really prayed for her. And for the first time since knowing her, Cyrus kneeled down and prayed for her. Cyrus just called her name like a broken record.
EVI....Evi... Evi...
Zayin was surprised to hear that Evi and Cyrus did not end up together. As someone who grew up with them he really never imagined the two to part ways. Zayin used to envy Cyrus because Evi choosed him. Zayin admired Evi, she had everything that can qualify a good queen. Evi is lovely, her eyes was of like the snow flakes melting when summer comes. Her locks were like the thread of spider and fiber from special species. Her presence were like the oasis within the dried desert.
When Cyrus visited and invited him on the journey Zayin agreed. When he found out about Evi getting married he punched Cyrus for not doing anything. Zayin knew that Cyrus was obliged to marry Gardenia because she concieved his child. Not long after Zayin got arranged with Daleth. When Zayin heared that Evi became a demon he got frustrated and concerned. When he sent a letter to Cyrus he replied something he never thought that Zayin would ever hear from him concerning Evi.
"Let's pray for her."
Gardenia met Cyrus and Zayin's team when she got caught in a war. She was one of the woman abducted by their enemy. When she first saw Cyrus eyes she feared him. It was the eyes of someone who got his soul in pieces.
When Cyrus prevailed against the bandits. Cyrus took an interest with her. She refused, rejected and resisted him in every possible way. She does not wish to be his pipe from his brokenness. She won't be able to mend what she never broke. But Cyrus persisted even with his eyes and hurt athirst with desperation.
When Cyrus pointed his sword at her face she thought that this man will soon tear her to fragments. And she was right her life became a laughing stock, the talk of the town and the queen who crawled her way up to the King's bed. Yet Cyrus did nothing. He just married her. It was a loveless and tug of war marraige but when Kiel disappeared at a young age they started to finally act as a couple. But those acting were agonising when Gardenia confessed her true emotions Cyrus started to let her in.
When Gardenia heared about Evi she knew that Evi's spot can never be replaced. So, she slowly prayed and did everything to be a woman that would fit and occupy her husband's eternity. And God heared her prayers. Cyrus started to be a good husband and father.
Evi thought that if she would be there for Cyrus everytime he will do the same. Evi knew that he stopped picking up her favorite camellia. She knew that her stalking was crossing the line. She knew that it was stuffy but she was doing it to protect Cyrus from the noble women who had their eyes set on the throne and not of his heart. She did not tell him because she wanted him to ask her why. But he never did rather he started to be indifferent. He did not fight for her. She can see his love got worned out. She decided to break it off and see if he would start to do his part but she just ended up weeping. It has proven that he personally had her waltz out of his door.
When she went on a vacation to their villa at the west her body became a veseel of a strong entity. When she looked it up, the woman who possessed her was a witch hunter. A devil who consumes the heart of witches. There are times that Evi would wake up and was surprised to find out that she got marries. Their are moments that she wanted to ask Cyrus and Gardenia for help because she is no longer okay but her host would end up torturing her, when her husband is unconscious. The demon would use her husband's body to harm her. She wanted to threw her pride, nobility and even her identity but she knew better that her life means something. When she realised what happened at Zayin's festival. She wanted to threw herself on the sea. When Cyrus Radney's troops disabled the devil within her. Evi thought that she is now free. She can now run and call for help but she was wrong. The demon just left her body and utilized her husband as the new vessel.
