When Chloe's mother got there, he was watching a movie and was surprised when Dennis told her, he never told Phyllis he was feeling weak so she called her and Phyllis asked her to give the phone to Dennis which she did. She then told him everything she found on his phone and broke up with him.
He was devastated she found out he was cheating on her and was just using her for her money just to support Felicia. The phone was on speaker so his sister heard the conversation and was very hurt and disappointed at what he did. She apologised on her brother's behalf and spoke to her to not hold on to his lies and betrayals else she wouldn't be able to move on. Phyllis thanked her and hanged up. Dennis called her for weeks but she never picked any of his calls and she sent him a text message to warn him to stay away from her else she would report him to the police. He was afraid of the police so he stayed away from him.
He later confided in Anarisa that, he had fallen in love with Phyllis and was ready to leave everyone for her but he delayed and had lost her. He told her, how good Phyllis was to him and the kind of sacrifices she's made for him and his family. He told her, how Chloe had been crying to see Phyllis but her Sister doesn't want her to go to Phyllis because she's ashamed of what he did. Anarisa told Phyllis all these but advised her to stay way from him. Phyllis continued to cry and brood over him until Anarisa forced her to go for counselling. She got back to her feet after few sessions and decided to focus on her work and how to earn an extra income to enable her pay her loans.
