章節 2: Chapter Two
"Hey, mom!" Naomi said, as soon as the call went through.
"Hey, sweetie. What wrong?"
"How do you know something's wrong?"
"Mother's instinct."
"Figures. Anywho, do you know anyone named Alice? I keep having this dream that I am on the rooftop of your complex and a white rabbit and a sleek-looking figure that kept on fading in and out were there. The fact that it seemed so real shows that my mind wasn't making it up."
Her mother paused a second before answering.
"You know how when you were younger, you saw two men visiting me and said that you were going to make one of them your husband because he was so handsome?"
"Yeah, I remember everything but his face, oddly."
"There was another man."
"Yeah, you told me that was dad."
"He was."
"Yeah, but what does this have to do with anything?"
"I will tell you everything once you get here," her mother said, her normally soft voice sounding sad.
"Okay, mom."
...
"Now that you are here, do you want anything?"
"To not be hungry."
"Well, that is easily solvable. While I am making your food, why don't you tell me about the dream?"
And so Naomi did. She had to tell her about the very beginning (including the part the author was too lazy to include) where she saw this man smile at her and no matter how much she ran, she was never able to reach him. Worst off, she couldn't see his face.
"That old Chesire. I swear, when I see him, I am going to take away his catnip....."
"So, I not crazy?"
"Nope."
"You are acting to calm about this."
"I already knew, hun," her mother smiled, setting a meal that she pulled from what seemed like nowhere. It was a heaping pile of mash potatoes and seven meat pies, all very hot.
"Mom! You must want me to be fat and have a burnt tongue!"
"Really, it's still hot after thirty minutes. Not surprising-"
CRASH!!!!
Naomi jumped but her mother didn't.
"He's here!"
"F*CK! Ah, that hurt like a b*tch! D*mn, who put this table right here?"
They walked over to the doorway to see a man with salt and pepper hair that looked familiar to Naomi. The ceiling above him was.... a gel-like substance that glowed a bright blue before disappearing.
'What the heck....' she thought, taking a step backward and frowning.
"Whoops," the man said, smiling. "Did I come at the wrong time?"
"Not at all, honey," her mother smiled.
"Who is that?" Naomi questioned.
"That sucks. You can't even remember me. I wouldn't expect you to, though."
"This is the man that cannot stay long, so he best hurry up and catch up with his daughter before his wife notices that he is gone for too long," Naomi's mother says, sternly. "I expect that crazy woman is irritable during this time."
"Yep."
"He's MARRIED?! And he is my dad?" Naomi asked the both of them. Instead of telling her straight off of the bat, they decided to tell her a story.

(Naomi's mom's POV)
"I know where you are," a voice cooed, creeping into the room Sarah was hiding. "I can smell your scent. It is fragrant, alluring, and dim... But not dim enough!" The figure the voice belonged to grabbed Sarah around her middle suddenly, snarling like an animal.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" Sarah screamed. The laughter ran out in the room was deep and seductive.
"Hah, you might want to be quiet. My mom was near the room when I went to look for you. That and you suck at your own game. Hide-and-go-seek, was it?"
"Yes. It would be much easier if you didn't have such a canine-like nose, Ricky."
"Don't be mad at me. Be mad at the king. He gave me this nose and I can't get rid of it."
"If you want to go to my world, you gonna want to! When a woman walks past you all you will smell is a pheromone increaser and end up in her skirt."
"My head or-"
"Yes."
"Not bad," Ricky murmured. That sentence caused him to get hit in the stomach by Sarah, who got up and ran out of the room.
She was running so fast, she didn't notice who she brushed past when she sped down the hallway. Only when she glanced back, did she realize she brushed past.
It was Ricky's mother. And she looked absolutely LIVID.
