章節 19: Chapter 19. Marionette
I tried to break away from their 'White Chain' but their chain was far stronger than the White Saints' who I defeated earlier. I could say that white saints were nothing compared to them. Besides, from their swift movements, I knew they were professional demon hunters. I observed them, trying to find an opportunity to attack. A high mage and healer stood in the back row while three white warriors stood in front as the main attackers as well as their protectors.
'They are really troublesome,' I thought.
I glanced at the tentacle boy behind me, he looked serious as his eyes glared at them. I could feel the movement of his back muscles that were in direct contact with my back as he struggled to get free.
'This tentacle boy isn't bad either. Even though I just sucked up his energy and he was tied by 'Stun Spell' but he still has strength for struggle.'
I glanced back at the hunter group and realized the mage's hands were starting to tremble.
"Finally our hard work paid off! I thought there was only one monster that escaped but it turned out there was another one. Looks like we will get a big pay, " said one of the warriors.
"Sir, I don't know anything. Please let me go... " I pleaded.
"She's right! She doesn't know anything! I'm the one you're looking for, " shouted the tentacle boy, his eyes stared at them in anger.
They laughed.
"Release you? As long as you are a demon, your head is still worth one hundred gold coins," said one of the warriors.
"Quick! This monster is very strong," said the mage. I could see his hands trembling as sweat began to trickle down his face.
"I'll cut off the demon's head." A warrior approached us, his hand gripping a weapon that was shining in white light.
"Sir, please spare my life..." I begged again.
"Let her go! Just take me!" screamed the tentacle boy as he kept struggling. I can see the sweat on the mage's face getting more and more.
The warrior grabbed my hair and stared at my scared face with an evil smile. His weapon was raised ready to swing to cut off my head.
"Die, demon!"
The tentacle boy screamed in frustration.
"I will replace her! Let me replace her !!!"
The warrior swung his weapon but suddenly his hand stopped and his face turned pale when he realized the strands of my hair had spread through his skin, entered his veins, took control of his body, making him as my living marionette. He opened his mouth trying to warn his friends, but his voice didn't come out. I gave him an evil smirk.
"I destroyed your vocal cords. You won't be able to say anything," I whispered.
His eyes widened in shock, sweat began to run down his face.
"What are you waiting for?! Hurry up and cut off her head!" said the mage in an annoyed tone. Looks like he's already exhausted.
The warrior turned his head towards his friends showing his frightened face. His friends looked at him in confusion.
"What's wrong with you?"
He moved his mouth trying to warn his friends while his head kept turning around accompanied by the cracking sound from his neck.
-Kkraakk ---- Kraak ---- Kraak
Blood flowed from his mouth, his eyes slowly closed and his breathing stopped, but his body did not fall. They look at him in terror. He ran over to his friends and tried to attack them. One of the warriors immediately released his 'White Chain' and stopped him, while the healer cast a 'Power Boost'.
I could feel the 'White Chain' that bound us weakened. I glanced at them.
'Now I have to take care of the mage.'
I controlled my marionette, he raised his weapon and threw it at the mage. The mage dodged, his concentration fell apart and his 'Stun Spell' broke.
Once the 'Stun Spell' broke, the tentacle boy quickly attacked the hunter group and threw them all with his tentacles.
The 'White Chain' that binds us is loosened up. We stood up as I gave them cunning smiles.
"It's time for revenge."
