章節 2: JOB SEARCHING.
The sun was scorching hot and, as if it was a hot kiln, burnt the top of two people's heads as they wandered the streets. One of them was a lady dressed in blue trousers and a white t-shirt; the other was a boy dressed entirely in black.
Ling Fen was holding an ice cream bag while sucking on it slowly while Gong Xu stared at her, mouth agape.
"Why did you not buy me any?" he complained as he moved further away from the greedy lady.
"Gong Xu ah! It's okay that I was fired, why did you fire yourself." Ling Fen did not answer but shot a question instead.
Gong Xu's displeasure was already at its peak. He shrugged lightly almost answering then while staring at the others' ice cream, he remembered the initial conversation and shouted angrily
"Ling Fen, why are you like this? I took time off my busy schedule to help you look for a job and this is how you treat me?"
Ling Fen only shrugged and almost answered mildly but before that, something else caught her attention, it was a hotel down the street they were walking on. From one look, one could tell that this was a luxurious hotel. Ling Fen looked once at the banner and all of a sudden coldness engulfed her whole body.
Gong Xu was stupefied, just a while ago, they were childishly bantering on the streets yet the next second, the person next to him turned rigid. Her face was very beautiful yet at the moment from it emanated a certain coldness that he could not explain.
He stared around but did not notice any change but following her gaze, he noticed the hotel up ahead and in a moment, his gaze also turned chilly.
"Do we move or go back?"
He asked even though he already knew the answer to that question.
The hotel ahead was owned by one of the biggest groups in the country, The Ling group and the head of that company was Ling Fen's father, Ling Wang.
Ling Fen sneered, "What's the use of going back? We have already reached this far, we might as well go on."
The two made their way down. The two noticed that the hotel was receiving quite a lot of customers. During the small amount of time they had walked, over ten people had entered the hotel and many cars were lined up at the drive-through.
The entrance was decorated extravagantly. The two did not spare a single glance to the interior as they passed. They had gone a little distance away when they had a voice behind.
"Ling Fen."
The voice was a woman's and it was laced with a feigned uncertainty.
Ling Fen and Gong Xu both turned around at the same time and their sights were greeted by three women who had dressed extravagantly. Their dresses looked pricy just telling from the fabric and in their hands, they held the latest Chanel bags.
The lady at the center stared at Ling Fen unblinkingly then let out an amused laughter,
"So it really is you, Ling Fen"
