章節 68: Another chance
Chen Rui cried on his chest for almost ten minutes until she finally calmed down. She moved her head and rested it on Jin Mingze's shoulder. She didn't have strength left in her body but being inside his arms was enough to calm the chaos inside her heart.
The words 'let's try again' kept ringing in her ears.
She wanted to give their relationship especially now that they were transparent with their feelings.
Jin Mingze reached out and gently stroked her hair to comfort her. This was the first time he saw her cry and it broke his heart especially when he knew that he was the reason behind it.
All this time, he was suffocating her... Hearing those words was like cold water that was splashed on his face, like a hammer that crushed his heart.
He wanted to begin again with her and for that to happen, they needed to be in it together.
Jin Mingze waited patiently for her response as he hugged her.
He didn't know what to do if she really wanted to leave him. Should he beg? A prideful man like him?
What's pride if it'll ruin the relationship he has always treasured? This was not the time to allow his pride to get ahead of him.
"I really did love you..." A soft whisper came from her. "Let's try to work things out between us..."
He looked at her, his eyes softened.
Those words were enough. It was enough to bring the joy inside him. He was happy, happy that she was able to have feelings for him even if it's just a little.
"I love you too... always will." He leaned back a bit and gently touched her wet cheek. He stared lovingly in her eyes before he leaned down and kissed her forehead softly. "Let's give this relationship another chance..."
Another chance... they both wanted another chance for their broken relationship.
They don't know where to start but right now, knowing the fact they were both willing to give each other a chance was enough
He pulled away and wiped her cheeks with his thumbs, "Thank you for coming back..."
Chen Rui thought that she didn't have any more tears to release but when she heard his words, her tears started flowing down again.
"You're... not angry?"
He blinked a few times, "Why should I?" He already knew that she was the woman who stabbed him so there was nothing to be angry about. Aside from that, why should he be angry with the feelings she confessed to him?
"You're crying again." He said with a small chuckle.
"Whose fault do you think it is?" She sniffled.
He continued wiping her tears again, "I want you to smile more, Mrs. Jin." He leaned down and gently placed his lips on hers to which it surprised her, making her tears stop.
She has so many things to tell him but she didn't like to spoil the moment they were currently having.
As she felt his lips brush against her soft ones, she closed her eyes and kissed him back. It was the sweetest kiss they both had.
He pulled away after a few seconds and wiped her cheeks again. "You finally stopped crying."
Chen Rui felt her cheeks heat up because of the kiss they shared and because of the gentle smile he was currently showing her.
"Come, we should get some rest now." He said as he finally released her. "I'll drop you to your room."
"No... I want to sleep with you tonight..." She looked at him with her red, puffy eyes.
At first, it surprised him a bit he decided not to say anything else except for a small "Okay."
When she stood up, she ended up wobbling a bit but luckily, Jin Mingze was there to hold her by her shoulders to support her.
"Do you want me to carry you to our room?"
'Our room'. A small smile appeared on Chen Rui's lips. "I've gained weight."
He raised an amused smile at her words, "I don't think that's enough excuse to stop me from carrying you."
She giggled a bit, "Yeah... I guess so."
She opened her arms and reached out to him as if asking to be carried, "Then carry me."
