Ji Anan tried to ignore her discomfort and hold back her tears.
She had experienced her family going bankrupt and the death of her parents, so she was able to handle more than most people.
She carefully scrubbed her lower body to wash off Beiming Shaoxi's scent, then she readjusted her disheveled clothes.

The bathroom door opened.
Beiming Shaoxi, who had been buttoning up his shirt while standing by the bed, paused. Only two buttons were done.
His abs were well-pronounced, and sweat dripped down them seductively.
His brows were furrowed, and he resumed his usual loftiness.
"I'll take care of you."
"No need. In life, you'll always meet some wild dogs…" Ji Anan smiled nonchalantly to put on a casual front. "Besides, you've provided me with a great service. It was fun while we were at it."
Beiming Shaoxi's cerulean eyes turned icy, and his muscles tensed up with rage.
Ji Anan picked up her underwear and ran back to the bathroom to put them on.
She only shut the door slightly because she planned on quickly putting back on her underwear and leaving as soon as possible, but when she turned around, she saw a figure leaning against the door.
Beiming Shaoxi was staring at her intently, his jaw tightly clenched.
His sky-blue eyes were like frozen crystals, and the contours of his face made him look fierce.
His thin lips were tightly pursed in an arrogant line. As usual, his nose was straight, and his chin was pointy.
She had to admit that he was extraordinarily handsome. If her heart hadn't already been claimed by Gu Nancheng, she probably would have yielded.
Marriage was marriage no matter who she married, and with Beiming Shaoxi's conditions…
Ji Anan stopped her imagination from running wild. She had made a vow to Gu Nancheng that no matter what happened, they would stay together.
"I'm leaving."
She walked by Beiming Shaoxi with her eyes looking straight ahead.
Her arm was suddenly grasped by the man's warm palm.
Ji Anan felt her heart lurch, and it began beating wildly.
The room was overflowing with a mixture of emotions, and the tense scene was enough to speed up someone's heart rate and make them blush.
"Beiming Shaoxi, I didn't expect you to be the sore loser type!"
Ji Anan finally showed her true colors. "After a measly one-night stand, you became obsessive and proposed to me! Please, what do you use your head for?"
"Miss Ji, I'm afraid you'll come back begging me."
Ji Anan guffawed. "Beg you for what?"
"Begging me to marry you." Beiming Shaoxi hadn't showered yet, so the intoxicating scent was still all over his body. "The Ji family is buried deep in debt, and you've been frequenting the police station over the past few days."
"You investigated my background?"
Beiming Shaoxi sneered. Of course he had done his homework on her. He had to explore all peaceful forms of leverage before finally resorting to force.
"I'm really curious what leverage you'll be using against me in your present state."
Ji Anan bit her bottom lip. So, he was being tough on her because he thought that she would sell herself to him and therefore agree to a marriage?
He thought her scornfulness and disdain were all strategic bargaining tactics?
"Have you decided on your terms yet? As long as they're reasonable, I'll agree to all of them."
Ji Anan narrowed her eyes, "You seem to have put quite a bit of thought into my affairs. Perhaps you're my godfather?"
He didn't answer.
"If you keep on interfering with my life, I'll curse you with dying alone and being struck by lightning!"
Beiming Shaoxi's seductive rosy lips curled up in an icy smirk. "Your sharp tongue is rather impressive."
"I can bite as well—" Ji Anan forcefully pulled her hand away and waved impatiently. "Goodbye."
Beiming Shaoxi calmly watched her tiny figure leave. He was curious to see how she would handle the Ji family's messy state of affairs on her own.
If she had the audacity to refuse him, perhaps she had already found a way to deal with the mess herself?
