"Am I the only one who thinks mother hit her head somewhere?" Jiaying asked as the girls moved to their rooms in a daze. 

"I think so too" Lijuan agreed to something Jiaying said for the first time before entering inside her room.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door and her mother came in. 

Lijuan was just coming out of the bathroom when she saw her mother come in. 

"I know you are still mad but..." 

Her mother smiled and interrupted her speech with a hug. 

"What are you doing?"

"Thank you Juan. For going out with your sisters... I have never been this happy in a long while." She sniffled. 

"Come on mother, we only went shopping. It isn't much of a big deal." Lijuan said, trying to make light of it. 

Mother Mei pulled away from the hug and used her hands to wipe off the little tears that had escaped her eyes.
