Four people stood there, shocked. Leo, Mia, Chloe, and Jeremy.
The last thing Leo and Mia had expected was to be welcomed by a half-naked Jeremy, who looked like he had been bitten all over my bugs.
Jeremy was even more shocked to see the two. He didn't need to ask which of the King's twin this was, because he knew it was Leo.
Leo!
When his brain registered that, he took a step back.
"Tell me you were beaten by a bug." Leo said in a very quiet voice.
Jeremy stepped back again when Leo entered the room with Mia beside him. Mia looked a bit embarrassed to witness this.
"Uh... I think we should return later." Mia suggested but Leo shook his head and looked further inside to see Chloe standing there, flustered and surprised to see Leo was back. But that wasn't the main thing at the moment.
The exposed parts of Chloe's body looked almost similar to Jeremy's.
"Oh my God! You two had sex!" Leo screamed.
"You have been sleeping with my sister?"
"Stop it." Mia pulled him back to her. It was already too embarrassing for the couple, why couldn't he just let it go?
"Leo, calm down. You are overreacting."
"I am overreacting?" Leo asked Chloe in disbelief. "You two look like you have been attacked by bees, and you say I am overreacting?" He scoffed.
Chloe went to stand in between Jeremy– who was looking for the best way to reach for his shirt, and Leo, who was glaring at him.
Mia quickly went to pick up Jeremy's shirt and handed it to him with an embarrassed smile.
"I know I'm your younger sister, but I am an adult. I don't freak out when you have sex with ladies."
Leo quickly looked at Mia, who was frowning at the mention of that.
"Why are you bringing that up? Besides, this is different!"
"How is it different? Jeremy is my boyfriend!" She yelled at him angrily.
"Chloe." Jeremy held her hand and shook his head. He didn't want her to quarrel with her brother.
He was a guy who had a younger sister and knew he would also freak out if he saw his sister in this kind of scene.
"I'm sorry you saw us this way, but that is the only thing I can apologize for. I love Chloe and whatever happened between us was as a result of our love for each other—"
"Oh God! I am going to kill him!"
The house turned noisy as Leo tried to attack Jeremy, while the two girls stood in-between, trying to stop any fight from breaking out, and also yelling their lungs out.
After a while, everyone was calm. "Come with me." Leo said to Chloe as he started walking towards where he believed was her bedroom, but he ended up in the kitchen.
She looked at Jeremy once and followed her brother.
"What do you think you are doing, Chloe?" He asked her with a frown of displeasure.
"What?"
"A few days ago, when I asked about Jeremy, you blew off the question. I noticed you have been sad and too emotional lately, and I am sure he is the cause. So what are you doing?"
"Stop freaking out. Besides, this was our first time!" She didn't want to mention she had been pissed because Jeremy had refused to have sex with her. It would only make matters worse for her.
"Makes it even worse! Did you agree to do it with him to keep your relationship? Are you desperate?"
"Do not say that about me." She frowned deeply at him. "We love each other."
"Are you sure about that?"
"He loves me! Why can't you just be happy for me and stop being negative?"
"I am not being negative! I am your older brother and I want you to be happy. If you believe Jeremy doesn't love you as much as you love him, you should let him go. Don't try to start doing what you—"
The two looked at the door when Jeremy entered. Jeremy looked at the siblings and settled his gaze on Leo, who was frowning at him.
"Please excuse us, Chloe. I need to speak with Leo."
Chloe looked at him in alarm.
"What? No—"
"Trust me." He stopped her.
She didn't look too sure, but she gave Leo a pleading look before she left the kitchen.
"What do you have to say?" Leo snapped.
"That you should stop treating Chloe like a child. And stop scolding her. I don't like it."
Leo's jaw dropped, and he blinked several times in disbelief.
Did he just hear him right? "You... don't like it?"
"I know you are her older brother and you care about her. As much as you do not want to believe this, I love Chloe, probably even more than you do. If you are worried about one of us hurting each other, then you should be worried about me, because I would rather die than hurt her. You love Mia, so you should understand."
"You love my sister more than I do? Are you insane?" Leo yelled at him.
Soon enough, they began to argue over who loved Chloe more.
"This is so embarrassing!" Chloe, who was in the living room, buried her face in her hands.
"You think? Imagine how I feel listening to my boyfriend and one of my best friends arguing about who loves you more." Mia said in a light tone, causing the two of them to laugh.
"I cannot believe Leo is acting like a saint now. You two have been dating for a long time. Haven't you—?" Chloe bit her lip.
Mia blushed and looked down before shaking her head gently.
Chloe looked at her in surprise.
"Really? You mean it?" Chloe asked in surprise.
Mia nodded and looked at Chloe with an embarrassed smile. "I guess you and Jeremy beat us to it–"
"SHUT UP! I swear to God, I am going to find your little sister a boyfriend just like you, so you'll know how frustrated I am!" They heard Leo's loud voice.
"I am sure we would get along because I am not like you!" Jeremy replied.
Mia turned to look at Chloe with an amused smile.
"If you ever end up having a wedding ceremony, you should choose between your brother and Jeremy, who you'll be inviting."
Chloe laughed. What was a wedding without the groom?
"I think Louis can stand in for Leo and himself. Leo won't be getting any invite. But do not tell him I said so." Chloe said lightly causing the two girls to laugh aloud.
"Why are you mad at me?" Leo asked Mia. He was confused at the attitude she had been giving him since they left Chloe's place and had refused to speak with him.
He kept stealing glances at her while he drove and continued to ask her what he had done to deserve the silent treatment, but the silence persisted.
Having no other choice, he decided to focus on driving for now.
As soon as they returned to his place, she left the car and left him to enter the apartment, making him frown at her.
He followed quickly and found her sitting in the living room with her arms across her chest.
"Why are you mad at me?" He asked, sitting beside her. When he touched her arm, she hit it, which caused him to withdraw his hand. Then she turned her head to the side to glare at him.
"Firstly, you go there, embarrassing your sister and Jeremy. As if that wasn't enough, you spent hours arguing with Jeremy about who loves Chloe more. How do you think that made me feel?
"Oh no! You are jealous of my sister?" He asked in surprise.
"Oh really?" She raised an eyebrow at him.
"Come on, you know I love you." He smiled at her and reached out to touch her arm, but she slapped his hand away for the second time.
"Don't be like this Mia. I only have six more days here. You want us to spend it quarrelling?" He pouted at her.
She rolled her eyes. "Stop being dramatic. I am mad at you. Even if you have a day to spend here, it wouln't stop me from getting angry." She huffed.
"Come on, I'm sorry. You know I have to attend an online meeting soon, but I want to make sure we are good first."
"I don't care." She shrugged stubbornly.
"Then I won't attend the meeting."
"Fine by me!"
"Okay." He relaxed on the couch and folded his arms across his chest just like her.
"Even though this meeting is very important, I am going to ditch it since my girlfriend doesn't want to talk to me."
Mia almost laughed. "Trying to blackmail me emotionally, or playing the victim card is not going to work." She informed him bluntly.
"Really?" He asked, sitting up to look at her. "Since when did you become cold, Mia Lucas?"
"I have always been cold to everyone." She reminded him.
"Except for me. And I want it to remain that way." He smiled brightly at her.
His contagious smile almost made her smile back, but she held it in.
Why was she always soft when it came to him?
"How important is your meeting?" She asked.
"Very important. We are going to discuss the last scene together. It's the most important part of the movie. I cannot wait to be done with it." He sighed.
"It's crazy how we just sit for an hour watching a movie without considering all the effort put into it."
"Well, it happens. The worst part is that some people do not give constructive criticism. They simply drop a review like 'this movie is trash'."
Mia nodded. "People need to be appreciated for their effort. I hope this movie receives as much love as the dedication you all put into it."
He smiled gently at her. "Thanks, sweetheart. So... have you forgiven me now?" He grinned.
"Not yet! I will still punish you for it." She scowled at him.
"Ohhhh... punishment? I love the sound of that. Do as you please with me, my mistress." He winked at her and chewed his lip seductively.
She got flustered and stood up immediately, throwing one of the little cushion pillows at him and making him laugh loudly.
"Come on, didn't you want to punish me?" He teased.
"I didn't mean that! Stop being a bastard and go attend your meeting. You only have a few minutes left."
He grumbled when he looked at the clock, then he stood up.
"Fine! You are no fun. You won't leave, right?" He asked her.
She decided to play hard to get and shrugged."I will try."
"Don't leave. I will be sad if you do." He said dramatically, causing her to laugh.
"Just go! I'll be here and give Mira and James a call."
"Good. I love you." He leaned forward and kissed her cheek, then smiled at her.
She totally forgot she was mad at him and smiled back shyly.
He reluctantly left her for his room, where he fixed his appearance and turned on his laptop to connect to the conference call between some of the crew members. As the person in charge of cinematography, he was needed everywhere.
After they all said their greetings, the meeting started. Seeing his ex-girlfriend, Cherry, on-screen didn't give him the kind of troubled and angry reaction he usually felt whenever he saw her. Knowing she was now dating someone, and the fact that Mia was aware of everything, put him at ease.
Thirty minutes into the meeting, his door opened slowly and Mia walked in. When Mia saw how focused he was on the camera, a smirk formed on her face. He didn't know what was coming to him.
She tiptoed closer until he snapped his head to the side, eyes widening when he saw her with his face flushed. He stared at her for a few seconds before he snapped his head back to the screen.
She wore black lace lingerie and the white button shirt he had worn here yesterday, which he had dry cleaned this morning, but she left the buttons undone. Her hair, which had been tied up in a ponytail earlier, was loose now and looked like she had run her hands through it to make it a sexy mess.
"Y-Yes... I... am paying a-ttention." He gulped and tried to focus on the screen, but his eyes kept drifting back to her.
By now, his entire face was red, and he was shifting in his seat. To make it worse, she went to stand at the side of the table where his laptop was placed.
His eyes shot up in alarm and he gave her a 'What do you think you are doing?' look. In return, Mia winked at him and reached for the clasp of her bra with both of her hands behind her.
