Mia didn't want to wake up from the dream because she knew that as soon as she did, she was going to face reality and realize that Leo wasn't there.
In her dream, he had met her sleeping on his couch. She had cried in his arms, and he cradled her lovingly in his arms until she fell asleep. When she woke up, he was still there, and they had spent their time together indoors, catching up and seeing a movie. But she knew it was all a dream. And even though her internal alarm was telling her to wake up, she didn't want to. After much struggle, she eventually decided to open her eyes and blinked in confusion when she saw a pair of eyes staring down at her with a smile on the person's face.
"Morning, Leo's woman." He greeted her with a cheeky grin that made her eyes widen, and she immediately sat up on the bed to look at him.
"It wasn't a dream, if that's what you are wondering. I met you last night on my couch and you cried so much that my shirt was soaked, so I could not raise the most important issue I wanted to talk about."
Mia still stared in disbelief as her brain registered that he was really there, but she managed to ask, in a very low voice,
"W-what... issue?"
He scratched the back of his head. "The amount you are going to pay for trespassing in my apartment."
When she got the joke, a laugh escaped her lips, and she continued to laugh until she started to cry.
Why was she always acting like a baby whenever Leo was around?
She was a public figure who went on TV, acted tough, looked tough and supported in making decisions that affected the whole country, but here she was, like a child who had been bullied when her parents were away, and now that her parents were back, she started crying, remembering how she had been bullied a few days ago.
"Oh no, don't cry. I didn't come with many clothes!" Leo grumbled, causing her to laugh amidst the tears.
"Sorry. I can't... seem to control my emotion." She said and began to clean her tears with the sleeves of her shirt.
He rubbed her hair gently and continued to look at her face lovingly.
"How... long are you staying for?" She asked and was already beginning to dread the answer. She knew it wasn't the time for him to fully return. He still had a few months left before they wrapped up everything.
"A week. One of the main cast caught a bad cold, so everyone was given a week off. I didn't want to spend it there because I missed you so much. And I wanted to hug you so badly." He inched forward and kissed her cheek.
A week. The answer was even worse than she had imagined.
She held his hands and shook her head. "I don't want you to go back. I can't take it anymore."
He grinned. "Isn't it too late for that? We've been waiting for many months now. This is the last."
"But—"
"Do you think you miss me more than I miss you?" He interrupted, taking her hands, so he was the one holding her now.
"I miss you every second. It doesn't help that Cherry is always around, pissing me off. She was always lingering around at first, until she started dating one of the producers."
Cherry was his ex-girlfriend who wanted him back. Mia was glad to know she was dating someone else now. That brought her great relief.
"I don't want us to spend the next week wasting time. You also have a break from work, right?" He asked hopefully, and she nodded. She was more than happy that they both got a break at the same time.
"Good. Then let me start by making you breakfast, and then we can go surprise Chloe in her apartment before she leaves for work. She had been feeling down lately. We spoke a few times, but she didn't open up. I hope to pry some answers out of her."
"Tch! And I thought you wanted to spend the week with me." She pouted.
"Don't be jealous, Leo's baby. I will give you everything after I am done with family issues. And I mean... Every. Single. Thing." He winked at her.
"Jeez! Stop calling me those cheesy names. Also, we have to dedicate a day to talk about what possessed you to ask me to wear that kind of outfit to your family house."
He laughed loudly. "I was so proud of you when I saw the news." He pinched her cheeks.
"Now, everyone knows you are mine. You are stuck with me for life."
Mia grinned like an idiot, forgetting about all the troubles she was currently facing. She had forgotten about Linda, Mary, the baby and everything else. She knew that at some point, they were going to talk about it. But for now, they were going to do other things, like have a quick breakfast and pay Chloe a surprise visit.
"You want to give me a hug before I go make you breakfast?" Leo asked, opening his arms for her.
She smiled shyly and nodded before jumping on him, causing the two to fall onto the bed, with Mia on top of Leo.
"I only asked for a hug, don't be a pervert, Mia Lucas." He said it sternly, but wrapped his hands around her waist and smiled.
"Says the one with his hands around my waist." She rolled her eyes at him before rolling away from his body, causing him to grumble in protest.
