"A tribal sun with a dagger through it... She hated it, I hated it and my little sister hated it." Syria continued. "So your mother.... Do you know if she worked in the palace?" Isla asked.

"I don't know. She never really talked about her life before my father bought her." Syria replied. "So your mother was a slave?" Calder asked. Syria raised her eyebrow and looked at Calder. "Your information about my family must be very off." Syria said with a sigh. "So, your mother... What was her name?" Isla asked with a trembling voice. Syria then looked at Isla and her face softened.
