章節 12: End of the Fifth Night
Renir doesn't care about anything other than purging that immensely growing black slime.
With just a glimpse of its power, he knew why the black slime can be the harshest challenge.
That was because he knew and understood what terrifying power one can get when absorbing those slimes.
And from the look of its, it doesn't eat and gain other slime's characteristics but the black slime becomes them and still unifies inside its body.
Instead of just increasing power, it multiplies.
The black slime became the core of a unified three rock slimes as tall as Renir's knees.
Renir hurried and even if he had to hurt himself, he kicked the approaching rock slimes away from the black slime, from the beast!
But there were too many...
When Renir showed aggressiveness, those that were kicked, jumped towards him and scattered its body.
Renir didn't have the time to block as he turned his back and accepted the beating from behind to run to the other side and also get their attention.
He immediately gained this perfect idea to attract their attention away from the black slimes, but still, he was a single man. Renir may be the strongest man on earth but he is still a man, a mortal with limitations.
While confronting dozens of hard rock slimes, the wind slimes ignored Renir and fiercely hovered towards the black slime.
Renir, terrified, saw at least three of the wind slime got eaten in one go.
"Argh!", he groaned in either pain or desperation as he escaped from the rock slimes' grasp.
Renir changed his target. If it was impossible to stop all the surrounding slimes that were encircling them, then the one that should be stopped was the black slime.
"AHHH!!!", with all his might, even gaining scratches and bruises just from ignoring the rock slimes, Renir charged at the black slime before it was too late...
When Renir confronted the monster face to face, it was already as tall as his half, but the slimes were flattened by nature!
The black slime was the core that garnered the other eaten slimes' cores, it has the characteristics from the rock slimes as rocks and stones filled it, and from the wind slime which elastic membranes enveloped it.
When Renir gave a furious blow, it was as hard as a thick boulder and the skin on his fist was immediately peeled off!
'"At least it's not broken!", he shouted as he launched both of his fists again and again while defending from the other slime.
His head to torso was being bombarded by the wind slimes while his limbs were being crushed by the rock slimes. But Renir stood his ground!
The black slime was yet to attack... but before it could have the chance to do so, Renir had to destroy it!
So he pummeled his fists on one spot. When the core membrane was scraped off, Renir still continued to rain his punches as the stones and rocks became fragments that enabled him to dig into it!
He doesn't care about the pain anymore!
Renir kept reminding himself he doesn't want to die yet.
But terror struck him one more when the black slime flattened. Even without it attacking, the beatings he got from dozen of wind slimes and dozen of rock slimes was enough to beat him to death if it continued.
But now, the black slime glowed black...
"AHHH!!!!", Renir released his desperation along with all of his strength to kill the black slime before it attack. He knew he couldn't take whatever it lands on him.
However, he was a bit too late;
When Renir reached and hold a grasp of the black slime in its core with his tattered hands, his whole body was lifted from the ground when the black slime jumped towards him!
Renir felt his whole being getting crushed at that instant but tightened his grip and--
Thud!* the tree made a little crack and blood could be seen splattered over it when the black slime crushed Renir along with it.
Other dozens of slime with different types, the water, fire, and wood slime came and revolved around the huge black slime along with the rock and wind slimes.
However, the black slime stayed still and didn't expand to absorb others like earlier...
Chump!*
Tough chewing could be heard...
Chump!* Chump!*
The slimes have no hearing and waited for the black slime, only for it to dissolved and thawed.
The huge blob spread like water and revealed Renir that it covered, eating the black slime mindlessly.
The slimes, without sentiments and emotions of fear, jumped as it saw its enemy but that caused the rock slimes immediately shattered, wind slimes ripped apart, wood slimes crushed, water slimes squeezed, and fire slimes extinguished...
Renir stood up amidst these corpses, he is the one who ate the monster, still dissatisfied as he preyed among the hundred of slimes scattered all over the vicinity. It was questionable if his consciousness was still intact at that time.
The moon slowly descended and soon, it will hide itself again, ending the fifth night.

On the other side, sometime earlier, the Pentafive formed their formation of Phase 1 as the man with long hair and sharp eyes instructed.
They moved as a team...
The man with the long hair confronted the black slime or what they call it, "Giganslik"
He sweated, he focused in his hand for blue light energy to appear from nowhere and congealed, then hardened as a sharp steel with the haft gripped between his hand.
He alone confronted the little black slime while the other four positioned themselves four corners away from the man in the middle and guard all those approaching slimes.
That was their Phase 1 Formation.
Each had their own role, the old man closed his forearms in front of his face and it hardened to become a steel shield for him. He was the main defense for later, but for now, they all had the same role as he confronted the rock slimes.
The woman easily reached the approaching wind slimes with her stealthy speed that even the slimes had problems with. She used her speed to defend from both water slimes and wind slimes. She guarded from the river and all the wind slimes approaching.
The little man has balls of fire hovering and revolving around his head. He was dealing with the hardest slime which was the wood slime with his fire blasting technique.
Finally, the little girl picked up pebbles that turned into fierce-moving sharp knives even when thrown softly as she defended from the fire slimes.
The four of them rotated if necessary and guarded so not to let the Giganslik reached its true form.
But they received great divination when they saw the approaching slimes were fewer than before!
The man in the middle was battling the black slimes. The black slime was only aggressive when it received one. So when the man with the long hair struck it with its sword with all its might, Giganslik glowed dark and jumped!
The sword strike was not enough! But the man with long hair knew that and if that would immediately work then they didn't have to come back there for the sixth time.
They were all engaged in battle, but even with fewer slimes, it was too much for them to defend themselves.
The old man had his eyes kept to his granddaughter all the time. He grief that she had to experience all of this at a very young age.
But the young girl was the perfect confrontation for the fire slimes with her throwing abilities.
Nobody except her had the advantage over these slimes, so reluctantly, they gave her the responsibility and she accepted with a determination not to burden them.
The old man frowned as he hoped, 'Be careful, Ye!', but he was not favored as he heard a shriek from his granddaughter's direction.
"~Kyah!"
'Ye!', he panicked and looked around him. He saw that the little man and the woman also looked at his granddaughter with panicked expressions but they too were getting pushed back by the amassing slimes.
The old man clenched his face when he saw his granddaughter had a burnt in her spotless face.
But when he looked at the man with long hair immersed in battle, he hesitated, 'Should I trust Sceke and Ye for this??'
If he left his guard post to protect his granddaughter, he will let these rock slimes enter the Giganslik's reach.
Meanwhile, the man in the middle had a furious battle as his sword already had its dent and bent while his body was struck multiple times. But when he heard the young girl's shriek, he reminded himself that it was not only his battle!
So even with a broken sword, he used it to stab and hacked the black slime.
'Just a little more guys...', he hastened.
They all have the same thoughts: This was not only their battle!
The young girl with marks of burns on her face and limbs along with burnt edges of her clothes just gritted her teeth and let her tear fall silently.
'I will not be a burden like last time!', she steeled herself with this thought as she continuously refilled her belly bag pebbles to throw it.
But she couldn't blame her grandfather for not coming to save her, so she could only do her best to show she didn't need help!
The other four couldn't also blame the man with long hair for taking a lot of time with just a little slime.
They knew how tough the black slime was! From the previous experience, the five of them just joined forces to try and beat the Giganslik before the other slimes arrived, but it completely failed.
A short amount of time passed and the slimes were increasing as it was getting harder to defend.
The five of them exhausted their energy and was unable to keep their abilities in use so, in each and every belly bags, they took out a small clothing.
But this clothing was just used to cover what was inside. They put the blue glowing bits that were inside the clothing to the mouth and with a gulped, their energy was fully restored with some excess that pained them!
The blue glowing bits were chylefruits.
...
Meanwhile, on the other side, Renir walked over the ground covered with slime remnants when he heard a shriek from afar...
Gantlet darkened and the fifth night ends.
