Me:"As tempting as the offer is I'm going to need something more substantial than that I mean what you're asking for is more than what piggy wanted"
Melissa:"And what do you mean by that?"
Me:"What I mean is piggy gave me a slave in exchange for a favor I'm a spirit but also human which means I can be enticed by worldly gains but not for moments of pleasure no matter how tempting"
Melissa:"Then what do you want in exchange for you to work with my family?"
Me:"That all depends on what you looking for is this cooperation your looking for short term, long term or permanent as prices may vary"
Melissa:"What is the difference? can't we hire you time to time when you're needed?"
Me:"You could but if I can't guarantee that the price will remain the same and there are already many people bidding for my attention that is with the knowledge that your family is interested in working with me who is to say latter their offer won't be more generous than what your family is willing to offer?"
Melissa:"Your saying that right now your price is at it's lowest it will ever be?"
Me:"Bluntly speaking yes so what do you want from me and what are you willing to give?"
Melissa:"I don't have the authority would you be willing to speak with my father?"
Me:"Preferably I want to do these things in person as I am only a high tier low rank spirit at the moment unless I am sure that I can bind the other party there will be no contract even if there is an agreement"
Melissa:"I'll call him right now and we'll see if we can resolve this issue"
She uses her communication ring to contact her father and explained the problem and is need of clearance to resolve this issue so she can speak for the family but her father cuts to the heart of the matter saying that he wants a permanent relationship with me and that he is willing to offer up his daughter which needless to say shocked her quite a bit but excited me as he out ranked Victor Crowley by a large margin and solved many problems I was currently having with imperial nobility in general but also offered me higher status throughout the empire and it helped that she was very beautiful so I didn't have to sacrifice anything significant for power and the rewards didn't stop there because although she wasn't the heir of the Verde house she was still a member by being engaged to her I effectively raised my status meaning my prices were about to soar plus she came with a dowry.
After Melissa left in a daze after she formed a spirit contract agreeing to this the meetings that followed with other imperial nobility and kingdom level royalty I rejected many offers as they conflicted with my new status as Melissa's fiance then let them know afterwards some of scumbags offered me slaves as congratulatory gifts while others doubted and pretended to wish me well and a few needed to be restrained after hearing the news of my upcoming nuptials they tried to attack me and when they were released they continued to curse me which made me laugh especially after one guy seemed like his world was coming to an end and broke down with no one able to console him which I didn't expect apparently she large base of suitors and not only males.
Needless to say I immediately became public enemy number one in the imperial academy for being a regular noble engaged to a imperial which is also why Victor Crowley was now trying to threaten my power base as well as attacking my family in the shadows I wouldn't care if the entire Hydra family was erased off the face of the planet but they were helping me manage my business and connections outside the empire and I couldn't afford to lose them plus if I let him do as he pleased it would make me appear weak and allow others to think that they could bully me so I need to make an example of what happens when you try and fuck me and since Victor so graciously volunteered to be an example who am I to deny him?
