章節 56: Chapter 48- A spar
"Fell free to attack me", Luffy said as he stood in place. "If you insist!" Issho didn't hesitate and pulled down a meteorite. He wasn't a fool, he knew he couldn't pull his punches against Luffy. Luffy looked somewhat disappointed as the meteorite crashed down. "You already did this, be more original". Luffy instructed Issho as he used gear three. Luffy's arm grew to the size of the meteorite and he went to punch it. But while Luffy punched upwards, a strange force attempted to pin his hand back on the ground.
'Not bad', Luffy thought as he leaped up to combat the force of the multiplied gravity. Luffy punched the meteor with a hook motion and the meteor steered off its path and landed in the ocean. "That was a good surprise, now hit me with your other moves". Suddenly, the ship the pair was on started to float. Then, without warning, it turned upside down and plummeted into the ocean. Carrying Luffy with it while Issho floated in the air.
*BOOM*. Just before the ship crashed, a hole was punched through the ship walls and Luffy came out flying. Issho didn't let him rest and suddenly Luffy was lanched upwards with tremendous speed. 'I didn't expect him to be this strong already. He's already managed to create his own gravitational forces, though he seems to be somewhat stiff and unfamiliar with them at the moment'. Luffy thought as his eyes shined a little.
Luffy flew in place as he waited for Issho to attack him. Issho concentrated a little and then he shot forward towards Luffy with his sword covered with mid-level armament haki. Issho struck at Luffy with his sword from above, but Luffy propelled himself left with his legs to avoid the sword. Issho saw this and immediately followed up with a quick left kick aimed at Luffy's torso. Luffy didn't avoid it to test Issho's power and he wasn't let down. Issho's current physical power was already enough for being a vice admiral. Issho demonstrated his fighting capability for a couple more minutes, but Luffy got swept away in the fighting spirit and he retaliated.
Luffy's legs suddenly enlarged to a ridiculous size as he used gear three on his legs. He then compressed his legs into themselves as he always while flying, but this time the result was enhanced. A sonic boom erupted as Luffy seemingly teleported and appeared in front of Issho with a fist raised. "Dodge this!" Luffy shouted while his fist was shot forward to Issho's face. Issho pealed as he realized he didn't have enough time to make a gravitational force strong enough to pull him out of the way so he could only tilt his head to dodge Luffy's fist by a hair's width. But it didn't work.
The reason Issho floated was that he made a gravitational force that negated the normal gravity. But as a result, he had no weight, and his movements lacked force. Issho's mere head tilt was not enough to exert the necessary force to move it completely out of the way. But right before the fist connected, Luffy opened his fist and grabbed Issho's shoulder. It was lucky that Luffy grabbed him since the wind pressure from Luffy's blow would have been sent Issho flying.
"My bad..." Luffy chuckled as Issho calmed himself. "Now let's continue!" Luffy got excited and prepared to receive Issho's attack. "We better stop" Issho argued. "I have shown you my most powerful attacks. There is nothing better I can offer at the moment". Luffy seemed disappointed at this development. "Oh well, I can't be too disappointed... You performed much better than I expected. I think you can reach your goal, but before that, I'll give you advice on how to further develop your devil fruit and also I'll recommend you to Grandpa"
"I see, Vice Admiral Garp will certainly be able to help me get stronger", Issho said. "Yes but that's for later. We need to discuss your move set". Issho and Luffy turned serious. "Why didn't you try to pull me into the ocean? Or stray me off you so that you'll be able to dodge? You practically have telekinetic control over anything with your gravitational forces. Why didn't you strike me while enhancing the gravitational pull on your arm? You could have hit me with a strong force. Or why didn't you just make me experience zero gravity? My punches would have lacked any form of force that's added from weight and I would've had a much harder time hitting you. You have one of, if not the most versatile combat orientated devil fruit yet you don't use it to its full potential". "I did not think of such uses, I will gladly take your suggestions", Issho replied after pondering Luffy's words.
"Now, let's talk about how you'll advance in the ranking. First of all, Grandpa being your teacher will help you to reach the rank of Admiral very quickly, and it just happens that there's a couple of free spots. The difficult part comes after that though, what do you have planned?".
"As you said, reaching the Admiral rank was a certainty, and with Vice Admiral Garp it will be all the easier. Next, I planned to challenge Fleet Admiral Sengoku after becoming strong enough, but that's just a backup plan since he's likely to retire soon. And in that case, Aokiji won't be my match. After becoming the Fleet Admiral I'll start with minor changes to the justice system and slowly but surely override it with no sudden big changes that will cause resistance. I know that the Five Elders will oppose me, but I'm guessing you'll help me with that".
"You are correct, I'll deal with the Five Elders and the World Government who will try to oppose you. But in exchange, you'll have to do me a favor once in a while". "Agreed"

Hey guys, sorry for the wait. The new fanfic's name is "MHA: Force of will". It's an MHA fanfic set in an AU. It will have a very post-apocalyptic feel to it since that's a big part of it. The MC will be strong and a little OP at the start, but he won't become a true monster until later since I've written myself into a corner with how OP Luffy is and I don't want to do it again (Not changing it though). Also, the cannon won't start for a long time since the MC's main journey will be in an area that was destroyed as a result of the appearance of quirks, and only after that's finished will he get into the cannon story. I really like it and I hope you will too. As for uploading, I'll try at least once a week for both fanfics and I can't do better than that for now. (Right now the new fanfic only has one chapter out since I want to save a couple for the inevitability of another long break like this)
