章節 54: Punishment For The Evils
The commander of the city guard broke out from the fight and took out a rope to tie Rose. While being tied, Rose yelled at him "What are you doing! My lord won't forgive you!" This didn't stop him.
"You have committed a great crime, even if the lord kills me for this, I'm not afraid!" He yelled back clarifying that he won't stop.
Then, the sound of the footsteps can be heard from afar, the ground is lightly asking. Many more people came to the castle yards, all of them were using the soldiers uniform.
Reinforcements from the army came, one of them has alerted the situations to others and brought them here. Some of them just join the fighting without even recognizing Arden.
Hans came back after several minutes with clean clothes on his body, he brought 2 glasses of water with him and sat down beside Arden.
"My lord, drink this, this must be a horrible day for you" Hans handed the water to Arden, and he accepted happily.
Arden smiled before his face turned a bit gloomy "Yea, it is an awful day, let's just wait for the veteran guards did their thing" Arden smirked a bit and his face turned to the happy one.
Not long after he said this, the veteran guards came from the castle and to the yard, Arden grinned, "Here they come!" Hans looked there a little confused before understanding what will happen.
"Everyone here! Stop! If you didn't stop, we will behead you in the name of our Lord!" One of them shouted, the voice can be heard all across the castle yard.
Everyone instantly stopped and the castle yard became silent. The veteran guards gave out a signal, only known by the army led by Arden. Arden himself didn't even know about this signal.
The signal itself basically "Our lord is here! We need to give him a kneel and a bow!" Meaning giving a greeting to their own lord.
The veteran soldiers gave out the signal and once the signal was given, the soldiers continued the signal. Some of them gave it to the normal guards, but none of them understands anything.
After that, they whispered to each other "We going to go?" and "The signal is directed to that man" No one whispered anything after that and some began walking towards Arden.
'What the heck is going on?' He thought to himself, he is confused as much as the normal guards.
The normal guards left behind, standing filled with confusion, and the soldier came to Arden and shouted, "We give our greetings to our lord!" Their voice echoed around the castle wall and to the hallway.
Some of them just lightly bowed and kneeled, they whisper to each other, wondering if this is their lord "Is this our lord?" The others told them to keep their voice down immediately.
'Okay, relax Arden, just play along!' With sweat coming out of his skin and nervous, he responded with.
"Finally! You recognized me!" He shouted and began doing his hair, changing it to the normal one he used.
The one that only bows and kneeled slightly began changing their posture to a full bow and kneel, while others stood there shocked, surprised. Some of the city guards rushed over and did the same thing as the soldiers.
'Well, well, let's see, that maid! Where is she?!' Arden ask himself and began searching his castle yard for her.
The maid tried to escape like a worm with her hand and feet still tied. Fortunately, Arden notices and shouted, "Get that maid! And the guards he employ! Kill them if they resist!" The tension raise at lightning speed.
The soldiers shouted, "Your commands are our duty!" And they began capturing them and tied them.
Some of them resist but their throat was slit open, followed by "Why did you resist, you could have lived for more days" The soldiers sigh and continued.
Rose herself is carried to face Arden easily since she already got tied before the commands were issued to the soldiers.
"Open the rope on her legs" Arden issued his order and waited for someone to take it.
Almost immediately, someone untied the rope on her legs and happily said, "My pleasure, my lord!" And continued on his way to help his colleague.
"Do you know your mistake? Rose the head maid." Arden asked with a heavy tone, intimidating Rose herself.
"Y-Yes my lo-lord" She stuttered to answer this.
Arden stared at her and thought for a bit "Oh---- What is it?" Rose stared at the ceilings for a second and thinking about what she has done.
"I collaborate with a criminal to steal your wife's dress" Arden stared at her for a second and Hans beside Arden did the same.
Slap!
A slap came toward her from Arden's hand, followed by a question, "Is that really the answer?" Rose took a minute to recover while crying lightly.
"I.S T.H.A.T R.E.A.L.L.Y T.H.E A.N.S.W.E.R?" He repeated the questing, slowing it down and yelled at her louder.
"I-I m-ma-made a sc-sche-scheme t-to st-steal yo-you-your w-wi-wife's dre-dress!" She stuttered heavily and yelled at the end.
Slap!
Another slap came from Arden's hands, now at the other cheek. "Good, this one is for you not following my wife's commands," Arden told the guards to take her to the maid quarter and left her there.
At this point, the soldiers already tied the castle guards and all of them forced to kneel. Arden just laughed at them one by one and let them see the face of their lord for the last time.
He holds his Naginata and look at them and then back at the Naginata "This weapon is getting a little dull, I need to test the sharpness of it!" He stepped forward with the perfect distance.
Swing
Thump
He swung his Naginata and the heads start falling. The number of the target reduced to 30 from 36 and he continued with his training.
Not even the chance was given to them, the criminal that escaped the city's dungeon and tried to kill him and others.
Some of the reason he used is "Your face is good, I want it," or "I think your brain needs to be operated, let me slice open your head," He did this just for a little fun and to punish them.
In the end, soldiers, city guards, veteran guards, Hans and basically everybody at the scene just looked at him beheading all of them one by one and taking his time slowly.
His clothes were covered in blood, some of the "target" for practice move their head back and the blade of Naginata slit open their neck.
While still covered in blood, he sat down and cleaned his body, "Hans, can you get me some water?" Hans stared at him and not doing anything before realizing what he needs to do.
While Hans went to get the water, Arden talked to the rest of people there "You guys can go, I can handle the rest" Most of them stare at him for a few seconds and have the same reaction as Hans.
Hans came back and dropped the water before looking around and asked ",Where did everyone go?" Arden heard the question but cleaned himself, his face and a little bit of the bloodstain.
"I dismissed them, there's no good for them to stay here anyway, this is probably the only day I have fun before continuing on works," Hans looked at him for a few seconds and responded with.
���I think I'll make you steak today, that's your favourite food right?" Arden still cleaning himself at this point. He answered the question.
"Yea it is, thanks for that, I need to go back to my room now, see ya" He left the place and made his way to the bedroom.
He opened the door and his wife was still at the bed, doing like she normally does and asked, "what happen to you?" Arden sighed and just go to his bathroom and cleaned himself properly.
After that, he gets dressed and sat down at the chair beside his wife and began explaining everything "The new head maid, Rose, didn't obey your orders and employ guards that are not a veteran of the army, most of them are criminals! Well, I took care of them now and need to find Cassandra," Valen looked calm and didn't look surprised at all.
"Oh, those 2 maids came from outside, only 4 maids came from the outside world and not from my friends or other you knew, that's no surprise," Arden looked surprised with her response.
He grabbed his sword and put it at his waist and thought to himself 'I think I'll bring the Naginata everywhere just like I did to my sword' He began making his way to the door with the peasant clothes stained in blood he used just now at his hand.
Once he reached the door, before he opened the door, he turned back and said "goodbye my dear, I'll search for your while throwing this clothes to the trash pile" He left the room and began searching for the wedding dress of his spouse
