''Who was she, Diana?" he held her fingers without breaking eye contact with her as he gently stroked her wrist, ''Does it hurt?" 

''No,'' her voice was slightly breathy but she really did not feel any pain in her hand, ''I don't know her and I have no personal feud with her, in case you are wondering. She is called Veronica.''
