She was relieved to hear him and she let go of both her arms around his neck. Then she placed both her palm on his chest and clenched her fist. She lowered her eyes while saying in a sad tone. "Max I'm sorry.  I knew I was wrong but I was afraid if you knew ....." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.  She was close to him now but she was still afraid that if he found out the truth behind her nightmare or if he knew she was illegitimate, he would leave her again.  But she didn't want to hide it any more.  She wanted to tell him what was in her heart. 

She opened her mouth again. "I was afraid that if you knew I was..."
