章節 33: First Quest
"Now that you are an official Adventurer, would you like to take on a quest while you are here?"
"Y-yes"
"Please take a look. Given this is your first official quest and you don't have a party, I recommend one of these."
Brianna pushed some papers towards me that had the descriptions of various quests. I had originally wanted to head directly to the closest big city, throw my non-existent hat in the air, and make it big.... but realized I should stock up on some cash first. I was down to 75 bronze and 5 silver. Plus this would give me a chance to hone my skills.
I had learned three things in my second fight with Snarf. One, I am definitely terrible in combat. Let's be real, I was a shut in with a job as a dog food tester. I wasn't going to suddenly have combat skills with no experience even with my 𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 and 𝐍𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐝 job.
Two, I am pretty much useless without a meat shield. Due to my lack of combat experience I panic and make poor decisions when under duress without being given adequate leeway. Also, I don't know how I stack up to other humans of this world, but my physical abilities are hot garbage compared to a Hentai Dragon's offspring. I am hoping with regular physical activity and level ups I will be able to eventually match and surpass Snarf.
Three, this is the most important, I REALLY don't want to die anymore. I'm not sure when I shifted my mindset, but I now definitely coveted my current life. Maybe it was due to the powers I now had, but I wanted to live. It definitely has nothing to do with me hoping to save cute girls and living a harem life of debauchery. Definitely not. I'm a man of culture after all.
I looked down and scanned the quests that Brianna had presented me. The second one I looked at seemed fairly doable.

Now that I thought about it, the rabbits I had killed when fighting Snarf had a horn on their heads. The illusion was supposed to be close to reality, so hopefully this shouldn't be too much of a problem.
"I-I'll take t-this."
"A good first choice. While the rabbits pose minimal threat on their own, when they are in a group they are quite difficult to deal with. Most starting Adventurer's would need more than one person, but since you killed a Draft I don't think this should pose an issue for you. Alright I have registered you for this quest. Now is there anything else you need from me?"
