The scene looked like wolves trying to take down a lion. The zombies kept latching themselves onto Snarf and then began to furiously attack. Chomping and ripping any part they could find. I had felt a sense of relief when the second zombie joined, but that feeling was quickly snuffed out. Snarf was a lot more powerful than I had thought, as expected of Lion-O's nursemaid.
Even though Snarf was bleeding profusely, the wounds seemed fairly superficial given its size. The zombies were taking immense damage as well. The bandit zombie was down to one leg and the guard was missing an arm.
I had tried to use "Drain Life" from a distance, but it seemed I was too far away. I was honestly afraid to get any closer. Snarf was flailing wildly, but at least it wasn't concentrated on me. If I got closer it might concentrate on me and then it would be over. I'm fragile you know?
That's bad, the bandit zombie lost its final leg to a giant tail swipe from Snarf. It had collapsed on the ground and Snarf was now putting all its efforts into killing... double killing? Double killing the guard zombie. This is bad, I need to do something to help turn the tides, but I'm a coward at heart. It seems when I ran to help Yema and Reen it was a fluke after all, or maybe since there was no one besides me here there was nothing forcing me to try harder. I'm worthless you know?
At that time I noticed the bandit zombie was still moving, it wasn't double dead, it just couldn't walk. It had latched itself onto Snarfs ankle and was tearing into it trying to rip it out. Holy shit, it looked like it actually worked. With a great scream Snarf fell to the ground. Both zombies used this chance to get on its back and continue the attack.
This is my chance... but Snarf is so big. I mean what can I really do anyways, who knows if "Drain Life" will actually do anything. Time was at a crawl again. The zombies can handle this and even if they don't this world wouldn't miss me much. Death is painful...but it is momentary.
[Our Hero]
I randomly remember the words Yema said to me. Why am I thinking about this now? Oh I remember the hug Reen gave me too. That was pretty nice. The warmth on my cheek... I wouldn't say no to another one. Would they miss me if I died? I could save more like them and get more hugs if I lived...
I blinked my eyes, clenched my fists, and ran forward.
"LEEEERROYYYYYYY JEENNKINNNSSSS!!!!"
