They were greeted with darkness and deafening quiet. So silent in fact that it felt like the space within was entirely cut off from the outside world.

"Don't move…" Chen Anyue's voice was soft as she tried to recall the first mechanisms that were installed within the building. 

There was a reason why no one was inside, after all. Likely because there were enough traps and other mechanisms in place that were meant to stop pesky intruders such as themselves.

Chen Anyue summoned a spirit light the glowed a lustrous blue, illuminating the empty space that stood before them.

Though the building was not so large and the space inside reflected its outward appearance, there was the distinctive feeling of being greeted with a wide and vacant emptiness.

It came as no surprise, for the room that stood before them in fact, one that was empty.

At least at first glance.
