章節 22: High Resolution
The next morning Paul got up, he relished being able to take care of himself again, washing going to the toilet, shaving, showering, ah bliss.
He headed downstairs and Mr Bonds was still there,
"morning'!" Paul said cheerfully
"Good morning," he looked like he had been up all night,
After Paul asked Mr Bonds explained he has gone through his entire caseload since he began and although he made some minor mistakes, he could find no other cases where he had messed up so badly, still he offered to resign as a lawyer after what he had done, to which Paul flatly told him no, he didn't blame him, Mr Bonds had acted in good faith with the information he had, and that Paul didn't want anything more than his help, yes he could sue the company but in the long run that would only end up hurting people who had done him no wrong in his eyes.
As the two of them headed out and round the building to set up Paul's new bank account, in a small apartment some distance away Mari stood there looking at the destroyed capsule, as she spoke to someone via audio call,
"No he's not here, the capsule is smashed, the hard drive was smashed and then microwaved the electric in the building has blown, i don't know what happened, there is no sign of him,"
Paul walked into the building, it had a nice blue carpet and several desks set up, he sat at one and spoke to the man behind it, and his account was set up in a few minutes and linked to his Another World account, and his new account had the best security, his rig could access it, and his brain scan and DNA were used a locks, so his rig could freely access the account, but no one else could.
When he got back to the free apartment he was staying in he gave Jack a call, and discussed about the remaining auctions he still had up, Jack told him since those auctions had been set up on the island it would be safe to collect that gold, but he needed a skill to make more without his name being linked to them, after Jack told him what class he needed to get that skill Paul asked him to not tell him anymore as he wanted to play this blind, half the fun is finding out stuff, jack also told him that now he had his new equipment when he logged in he would appear in the first starter city not the island, because the island was meant for only those who couldn't access the main game as a low level trial area.
He got comfortable on the bed and logged in, his vision blurred as he switched to the game world, he rubbed his eyes and he was already in the game, then he looked around he was in a large square garden, there was an ornate fountain just behind him spraying water into the air, flowerbeds in circles radiating out from the fountain separated by footpaths, and two sets of steps up to the main streets, the buildings looked very Japanese in design, some pagodas, some modern, it was like stepping into japan, ash he looked around he noticed the people, milling about just taking care of their own business but unlike the island there were no names above them, no way to tell NPC from player, if he didn't know better he could swear he was in Japan, he pulled up his inventory window just to be sure, it was then a young man approached him and welcomed him to the city,
"hello and welcome to Elswind, the kingdom of martial arts, do you need any help?"
"um, no thanks, i'm ok" Ulric responded
"ok well if there is anything you require just ask one of use guides, oh and here is a map of the city, have a good day sir," he said cheerfully and walked off,
A map was placed into his status screen, apparently they didn't take up item slots, he pulled the map out and began to study it, looked fairly simple, various districts, dojos for class training, ect, standard stuff, he wandered around the city for a while and then headed for the nearest city gates, he wanted to see what monsters were about outside.
The outskirts of the city were a bit barren with some patches of grass, maybe the city bordered onto a desert? there were a few monsters nearby including rabites, as he walked up to one it turned to him and glowed slightly red and attacked, he quickly killed the weak monster and looted it, he then noticed all the monsters had a slight red aura to them, ah so that was how you could tell they were hostile, after checking the outside he headed back into the city after all he wasn't ready to hunt quite yet, as he walked the streets he payed close attention to the people and sure enough now he was looking for it he could see the slight green aura around them, as he looked around he could pick out quite a lot of people with no aura and judging from the equipment and weapons they were carrying they must be players, he also saw one or two people with yellow auras, they seemed to be blending in to the building's shadows as people didn't seem to notice them, he spotted one person walking right towards one of these people as they were about to collide the yellow aura'd person smoothly stepped aside and left the other person pass before moving back, the other person didn't blink or turn her head she didn't even notice, Ulric headed for the man, slipping through the crowd easily even for a big guy like him, with high dexterity and agility it was very easy to slip through and walk up to the man, and just stood next to min facing him and smiled.
