章節 9: The Trip

It's been a few years since mathew was born. He's turning five so we're driving down to my family in missouri to celebrate. We prepare to leave for a few days. As I check the cara fluids mathew runs out of the house to see what im doing he comes next to me "what are you doin dad?" I look down at him. The kid is pretty cute. "Im checking the fluids on the car, wanna help?" I ask him. A shimmer in his eye shows his excitement. "Yes please". I pick him up and he pulls the oil dip stick out. "What next my little helper?" I ask. "Uhhh we wipe it off?" "Correct" i hand him a paper towel and I dip it back in and pull it out. It's right on level. Mathew wipes it off and I put it back and shut the hood. "Good job buddy" I say to him. He smiles and walks into the house. I stare at the hood for a little bit. My wife walks out with Mathew and puts her hand on my shoulder. "You okay hun?". I look at her and nod. She gives me a kiss on the forehead and we walk into the house to load up our belongings. I grab most of our luggage and put it in the trunk. Mathew brings his backpack full of toys in the car with him. We buckle him into his car seat. I get in the drivers seat my wife in the passenger. We head towards Missouri.
