章節 21: Catching Up
As the comment Xantos just made started to sink in, Aurelia started to tear up next to me. "Is it really you Derek?" She asked him tears rolling down her face, with a hint of hesitancy in her voice as she asked him. Looking at her with a caring gaze in his eyes he slowly responded, "Ya sis, and it's been a long time waiting for you to show up." As he said this, he walked up to her and pulled her into his embrace as tears streaked down Aurelia's face.
Over the next few minutes, we just caught up with each other and everything that had been going on. We learned about how Derek, now Xantos, died and got reborn instead as well as the reasons behind that. He then went on to let us know about how it was like to grow up and have to go through the terrible experience of puberty for the second time, all the way up till he today. We brought him up to date on everything that had happened until it came to report our actual findings from the dungeon.
"So now that we've caught up, what took you so long in the dungeon? There definitely had to be something wrong for it to take you as long as you did, considering were at the same level of power." Xantos said this to us, with a questioning gaze as he asked us this.
"That is exactly why we asked to meet up with you, I think it would be easier to show you rather than explain the whole situation," I said to him as I pulled the Demon Stone out of my inventory. A look of shock came on his face as he saw the stone, "Ya that would just about do it, how much of the dungeon was corrupted, and how bad was the corruption?"
When he asked the question Aurelia happily answered him, "Everything from the seventh floor up was corrupted, with all the creatures becoming infernal and increasing by two small ranks. Everything that we faced that was a wolf or stronger entered the realm of Low B-Rank and up. Finally, the boss became a demonic beast, most likely due to its proximity to where the Demon Stone was hidden in the dungeon. To make sure there weren't future problems we made sure to completely clear each floor of its infernal creatures."
As she was reporting the important parts of the mission to Xantos, he was diligently writing the report on the other side of the desk. A few moments after she finished the report he finally finished writing it all down, at which point he took out a special looking stamp placed it on a corner of the paper and poured mana into it, leaving his own distinct imprint on the paper.
"Alright, now that all that is taken care of, I'm gonna have to break the news to my dad, or the guild leader as you know him, that I'm gonna be leaving soon." I noticed a sad look cross his face as he mentioned leaving, which is something I can understand. Even after being disowned by my parents, it was still really hard to go out on my own. What made it hard wasn't leaving my parents for me, but my little brother. I really hope that everything is going to be okay for him now that I'm gone.
Deciding to keep quiet unless he decides to open up about it, I decide to move on, "I wish you the best of luck talking to them about it."
"Ya I never thought I'd have the same connection to them as I had for my original parents, but I do, it's going to be hard saying by to them. I've always wanted to explore this world, but I've been waiting for you two to show up in the world first. Now it's time for me to fulfill my dream to see this world," He said it with a resolution that was quite different from when he was on earth. I could tell that in the time he was here before we arrived, that he was able to mature far past what Aurelia or I had been previously, at least in some respects.
"While you're doing that we're going to be processing some materials we got in the dungeon, as well as leveling our crafting skills," I said to him as our conversations came to an end both of us gave him another hug as we looked for a room to do our work.

XantosZ Sorry for taking so long to get all you readers another update on the book, I just moved and it been a crazy past few weeks, thank you for sticking with me. Hope you all enjoy the update, and hope you enjoy the real start of the book, be prepared for a wonderful adventure. Always remember, I'm open to suggestions, if you have an idea or thoughts on how I can improve my writing. I'm also always open to new side characters, whether that be a blacksmith or a sponser or something along those lines.
