章節 163: Reasonable Explanation

Melvin, who was standing in front of his mother's bedroom and had just raised his hand to knock on her door, paused when he heard her voice.

"Why did you take so long?" She asked immediately after she took the call. 

He still would have gone ahead to knock on the door, but for the underlying tension he heard in her voice. This made him very curious, so he decided to eavesdrop on her conversation and find out what was going on with her.

He had been on his way to the hotel where he was to meet Nath and go with him to the movie production location when he received a call from his father asking him to go home immediately to check on his mother. His father had said she was sick with worry about him, but hearing her on the phone now, he could tell something else was bothering her, and it had little or nothing to do with him. 

He couldn't hear what the other person was saying, but his mother's next words gave him goosebumps.
