章節 111: Can't sleep
Yu Chen and Si Xia said goodnight to each other and went into guest rooms to sleep, which were adjacent to each other.
As she thanked Wei and closed the door, Yu Chen was dead tired. It had been a long day.
She climbed into bed and covered herself with the comforter, expecting herself to fall asleep immediately. But she could not, no matter how many times she tossed and turned, Yu Chen had simply too much on her mind.
Finally, when she couldn't take it anymore, Yu Chen climbed out if bed. She looked at her phone, "2:00 a.m., huh? I'm turning into a bat."
Yu Chen thought as she went towards the window. It was beautiful outside. It was a cold and clear night, there were no clouds in the sky and stars were clearly visible. Yu Chen looked at the back garden visible from her window. It was beautiful with lots of trees growing. Yu Chen looked closely and realised that they were all cherry blossom trees.
"Oh how pretty it would be during the spring!!!" she thought. She wished she could go out to stroll in the night.
While Yu Chen was contemplating about whether to go, her eyes fell on a figure sitting on a bench in a rather hidden corner of the garden. If it had not been a clear night with a bright moon, Yu Chen might have not noticed Si Xia sitting there. She noticed that he was only in his pajamas.
Yu Chen hurriedly opened the cupboard in the room and found o blanket. Clutching it in her hand, she went out of the back door, into the back garden. She went to where Si Xia was sitting, and he did not seem to notice her. His eyes were looking up and he seemed to be in a deep thought. Yu Chen went behind him and quietly draped the blanket over his shoulders.
It was then that Si Xia noticed another presence. He looked at the blanket around his shoulders and then towards Yu Chen, who stood there with a slight angry expression.
Si Xia was taken aback. He said, "Umm...did I do something wrong?"
Yu Chen: "Of course. Which idiot sits outside in such a cold night, and without anything to warm himself."
Si Xia chuckled, "Sorry. I couldn't sleep. Mad the stars were really pretty."
Yu Chen looked up, "That they are. Anyway...."
Si Xia never got to hear what she was going to say, as Yu Chen let out a sneez suddenly. "....Achhooo..."
Si Xia smiled and opened up his left hand, gesturing her to get in the blanket.
Yu Chen sat beside him and he covered both of them with the blanket.
Si Xia: "So what were you going to say?"
Yu Chen: "I was wondering about why you couldn't sleep?"
Si Xia: "I was thinking about how it was wierd that nobody knows from where Xi Hua fell, even we, who got to the scene first, assumed that it was the roof."
Yu Chen completed his sentence, "But her father said a window with such certainty."
Si Xia nodded, "Anyway, it's not much use wondering about it, the police have already started investigating."
