"RENO!!!"
"GAH!!!" Immediately upon following Reno and Rude into a crudely built, but impressively stable shelter, the unlucky red head is ambushed by a small girl with short blonde hair. She grabs and yanks his ear in fury and yells point blank.
"You were suppose to bring back some useful scrap! So why did you return with the harbinger of the apocalypse!?" The girl asks. I can also sense a little fear in her voice.
Looking around I notice that besides myself. There are 17 individuals. If I recall, with the exception of 1 person, all of the were members of the Turks. Most of them disappear before the start of Final Fantasy 7 and only appear in spinoffs.
All of them are looking at me in a mixture of hostility and fear. Holding whatever jury-rigged weapon they could grab and are poised in seamless cooperation.
Reno frantically taps the raging blonde's shoulder hoping she would let go.
"Ow-ow-ow! Let go Elena, I can explain!" Reno pleads.
...
After a lengthy explanation from Reno most of them relax, but never once letting down their guard. It's a wise and professional move I expected no less from Shinra's greatest intelligence agency. They are willing to give me the benefit of the doubt.
The kid in charge sits at a makeshift desk. Propping his chin on his hands staring at the chibi Sephiroth sitting across from him in caution. He has shoulder length black hair and dark brown eyes. He has a tilak in the middle of his forehead.
He is Tseng. Former head of Turks.
He sighs and asks me, "Your Sephiroth but at the same time not. Am I getting this right?"
"That's correct. It sounds strange, but I am him in body, yet my mind and soul are of someone else." I reply.
"Someone else..." Tseng repeats to himself before asking, "could you elaborate on that part."
I lean back and rub my chin in thought, "This will be... Difficult to explain but I'll try and simplify it so that it will be easy to understand for some..." In which I glance at Reno who yells out indignantly.
"HEY!"
Tseng on glances briefly at Reno in amusement and nods his head to me to continue. I obliged.
"What do you know about reincarnation?"
I explain to them about who I was once in my past life. A normal everyday Average Joe living a normal childhood, excelling in my grades, and nearing my high school graduation.
They were surprised to hear that I was just a normal high school student. A few were intrigued with my past life's literature and hobbies. So I promised to replicate a few at some point.
I didn't know how they would react if I told them they were from a series of games in my world, so I omitted that fact.
Then I started telling them about me being reborn in this body and was granted the original Sephiroth's memories and experiences.
"... So essentially, I gained his body and experiences. Minus the corrupting influence of Jenova." I finished my story. A few of the turks have a look of understanding while others are still confused or skeptical.
"The fact that my name in this world is Shinra D. Sephiroth is quite ironic." I added.
"This is all so hard to believe." Tseng says.
A red girl cuts in and said, "It is but I can tell he is being truthful."
Tseng sighs, "I know. The fact that our former enemy has a successor with all of his experiences and memories is disconcerting."
"Hey, at least the new guy seems nice enough!" Reno says.
Tseng stares at me silently before asking, "You have all of Sephiroth's memories and experiences. How do you intend to put them to use?"
I answer him with a smile, "To be a hero as the original was supposed to be seen as. Someone who society looks up to..."
Hearing this Tseng smiles.
"Admirable."
I nod and add, "But very difficult. This world is far more fucked up than both mine and your worlds."
Tseng cocks his brow at this and begin explaining the system of this world. Secrets about this world the World Government would like to be buried.
I tell them about the World Government, Marines who serve them, the Celestial Dragons who command them.
Then I tell them about the pirates. The Four Emperors, the 7 Warlords who are under the world government.
Then I tell them about the Revolutionary Army. Hearing my tale, they start seeing a disturbing similarity between the World Government and Shinra as well as Avalanche and the Revolutionary Army.
After telling them all I want about this world they sit un silence to digest this new information. No longer is this world a mystery to them. It's a new world with new laws and a new system to adapt to.
They no longer have a worldwide corporation to serve, or a real true purpose to follow. They are free and are at a loss on how to proceed.
I know what they are thinking and smile. I have a proposition they will find hard to refuse.
"If you guys will hear me out I have something I have been planning since I woke up in this world that might interest you."
The Turks look at me in interest as I start explaining my plan.
To be continued...
