章節 13: Exploring the Cave
Going inside the cave, the first thing that Lori noticed was the strange writing in the walls. Walking closely and inspecting the writings, Lori couldn't understand them at all.
His brows furrowed and said, "Lets fo deep inside"
While the two were walking inside the dark cave, there were strange writings everywhere.
"Hmm," Lori noticed near him when he walked closer. He saw that it was a sword, and from its appearance, it must be the sword from the soldiers who went with Commander Allan inside the cave. The sword was covered in green liquid with several dry bloods splattered around it.
Suddenly, a sound came from inside the cave which alerted him. Katakuri who was behind him immediately move in front of him for protecting him.
Seconds later, small lights flickered in the dark cave and move around them. But as they move closer, it revealed what it really was.
Lori felt a chill from his spine when he saw them. Those small lights were the eyes of the creatures surrounding them. It was the eyes of countless spiders staring intently to them like a predator to its prey.
It's not that he was scared, Lori just feels a little uncomfortable seeing spiders bigger than him. They just really look creepy as hell.
Screech!
The huge spiders larger than him all moves towards them. Their eight legs created a tapping sound on the ground which echoes in the whole cave.
'Oh, sh*t!' seeing the spiders charging towards them, Lori shouted inside his mind. The disgusting and creepy appearance of the spiders almost makes him want to run away.
"Disgusting creatures, dare to scare the Young Master. Die for me!" like a wild animal, Katakuri holding his trident pierced and cut the heads of the spiders.
When Lori heard Katakuri, he said inside, 'Who said I was scared of them?'
Splat!
When the head of the spiders was destroyed, green blood splattered around giving a very toxic smell in the area. In just several seconds, all the spiders were killed by Katakuri. Although Katakuri easily killed the spiders, Lori could still roughly guess the strength of these spiders. From what he guesses, these spiders must have at least the strength of Rank CCC warriors. But with their natural ability, they can fight against Rank B warriors inside the cave.
After killing the spiders, the two didn't stop and continue forward. As they go deeper inside the cave, they encountered many more spiders and different creatures. Right now, Lori was sure that there must be something hidden inside the depths of this cave. There was also the strange writing which makes Lori wanting to explore the cave faster. He wanted to know and understand what is the meaning of those strange writings. There must be meaning for those writings.
Hours after hours passed by and the cave seems endless. They couldn't find the ending of this dark cave. There is no other path inside the cave, so there is no reason for them to get lost.
While the two were moving forward, ahead of them, Lori spotted something, "What is that?"
There in front of them was a giant door made of unknown materials. Beautiful engravings of different creatures were in the door. But Lori thought that the engravings were creepy. Because in all the creatures engrave in the door, all of them had a human face. What more is the human faces have different expressions in them.
Some were sad, some were happy, some were crying, while some were angry. The different expressions look very realistic. As if they were faces of real people.
Putting his hand at the door, Lori pushes it.
Creak!
The door release a creaking sound and the door slowly opens. Contrary to its huge size, the door easily opens with just a small push from Lori. When the door fully opens, it finally revealed what was lying behind the door.
"This is" Lori's eyes were staring widely inside at the thing hiding behind the door. Even him, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Suddenly, his expression changes and he shouted, 'What the heck is this?!"
Running inside the room, Lori's eyes wandered everywhere. "Where are my treasures?! Where are my glistening gold and jewels?!"
Lori's disappointed shout echoed in the large empty room. He thought that by coming and exploring this cave, he would discover a treasure hiding. But now, all his expectations were transformed into disappointment as he stands inside the large empty room.
"Young Master I found this" Katakuri's voice sounded beside Lori.
When Lori turn around, he saw Katakuri carrying four feet tall silver egg. The appearance of the egg was beautiful. Its silver shell was covered in green vines with some flowers in it. As Katakuri put down the egg, Lori went near it and touches its shell.
However, when his hands touch the shell, the system's voice sounded inside his head.
Ding! The host discovered an egg of a dragon. Dragons are powerful creatures living in this world since ancient times. For all these years, they're legendary tales spread throughout all lands and across the seas. The host needs to drop his blood in the egg to hatch it!
'Dragons!' Lori shouted in excitement inside him. As a prince, Lori grew up listening and reading stories about dragons. And from those stories, all dragons were depicted as mighty creatures that can destroy a small kingdom easily. Now that a real dragon egg was in front of him, he was obviously very happy.
Roar!
A loud roar sounded and shakes the whole cave. Ir seems to be from a powerful beast that lives in this cave.
Boom!
Part of the wall in the huge room suddenly collapsed and a huge figure came in sight. It was a giant purple snake with eight eyes in its head. Its sharp fangs were at least five feet long and a green liquid was dripping from it.
Just a single glance and Lori knew that this giant snake is very powerful. Its eyes were staring at the egg between Lori and Katakuri all this time. The snake came for the dragon egg.
Then, the eight eyes of the giant snake turn towards the two with its venomous glare.
"Humans, give that dragon egg to me!" a hoarse voice came from the mouth of the giant snake.
After that, the huge snake raises its head and strike down towards the two.
Suddenly, the ground around Lori transformed into mochi which blocks the snake. Katakuri then stands in front with a serious expression on his face.
While the giant snake was about to pull back its head from the attack. It notices that something is weird because of the sticky substance in front didn't let him retreat and hold its head.
"Raindrop Mochi!"
The surface transforms into mochi tendrils and rain down towards the head of the snake.
