章節 20: A Favor
"A few minutes earlier"
Jason walked to the Dukes Manor after he asked where it was.
"Hello, sir how may I help you?" An older lady in a maid uniform asked him.
"Yes hello, I am looking for the Duke." He told her.
"May I know the reason?" She asked.
"Yes, I need permission to go to ruins but was told that I needed permission from the Duke," he told her.
"Ah, your one of those ruffians trying to prove yourself I see," She said with a tinge of annoyance in her voice, "Well the Duke is in the middle of a very important meeting right now with his second daughters' fiance so you will have to wait here till he has finished."
"Alright, thank you." He told her.
'Are Adventures not welcome here or something.' Jason thought to himself as he took a seat in a seat that was located at the entrance of the manor.
As Jason was sitting there he suddenly felt a killing intent coming from the Manor causing him to jump up.
"Shit, if that person is trying to kill the Duke I won't be able to get his permission to go to the ruins." He cursed.
He rushed to the place where he felt the killing intent and enter what looked to be a hall of some kind, but when he walked in he saw a familiar girl about to get stabbed by a young man.
'Why does she have to be here' Jason wondered.
"You really are a distasteful girl that even your fiance wants to stab you huh," he told the girl as he grabbed the hand of the young man with the knife and threw him into the wall to their left.
"W-who are you?" the duke asked with a frightened look on his face.
"IT'S YOU!!!" Azalea screams at the same time seeing that it was Jason, "WHY ARE YOU HERE!?"
"I'm here to see the Duke, not that its any of your business," he told her.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS NONE OF MY BUSINESS THIS IS MY HOUSE, I AM THE SECOND DAUGHTER THE DUKE!!!" She yelled again.
"And I'm the one who has saved your life twice now but not only have you never thanked me for it, you are yelling at me," Jason said to the bratty girl.
Azalea was about to say something when her father interrupted her saying "Now dear this man did just save your life so maybe you could be a bit nicer to him."
Before anyone could say anything else Issac jumped up and ran out of the room yelling, "just wait till my father hears about this you will regret it. Duke Starborn this means war."
"GUARDS STOP HIM!!" the Duke yelled but it was useless because Issac pulled out and activated a dark purple crystal and disappeared into thin air.
"Damn," the Duke cursed, "Fredric gather all the soldiers and tell them to prepare for war."
A man who looked like he was in his late 50's stepped forward and said "Yes my Lord.
"I don't mean to interrupt but I came here to ask you something," Jason said.
"Yes what is it?" the Duke asked
"I would like your permission to visit the ruins," Jason said.
"Hmm I'm afraid that is impossible at the moment now that we will be at war with Whitherman as he owns half of them." The Duke said. "However it might be possible."
"How?" Jason asked
"I will need you to do me a favor." The duke said.
