Silva POV
Thankfully slipping past the White Fang grunts is not very difficult with Magic, but as I reached the train, I thought about sabotaging it. It simply runs off Dust combustion, so I need to destroy a few key parts to stop it from going anywhere. As I broke some nuts and bolts to cause the train to break down if it started up, I felt someone sneak up to me. I pretended to have my guard down to lure them in, and as I heard their footsteps close in on me, one step, two steps, three steps.
Now! I quickly drew my sword, ready to slice the enemy. Or at least, if it was anyone else aside from Neopolitan.
Silva: Neo, you really should not try to sneak up on me.
Neopolitan texted me with her scroll.
Neopolitan: [ So why are you here? ]
Silva: Just here to make Roman's life harder, that's all.
Neopolitan looked like she was considering what to do with me, and I attempted to bribe her.
Silva: Neopolitan, if you let me throw a few monkey wrenches in Roman's plan, whatever it may be, I will pay you whatever you want within reason.
Neo looked like she was seriously considering the deal until she hit an app on her scroll, which raised the alarm. She then told me with a conjured sign from her Semblance.
Neopolitan: [ Sorry, not sorry. ]
And she quickly ran away with her Semblance making her disappear from my sight; oh well, no use crying over spilled milk. Soon I found myself surround by White Fang grunts with Adam's lieutenant in the lead.
Adam's Lieutenant: I recognize you; Adam's going to be glad to see your corpse.
I rolled my eyes and shot back.
Silva: Too bad you're never going to see him again.
I clad my fist with vibrations and hit the ground, causing a tremor throughout the cave. Hopefully, the girls will be fine.
General POV
As the alerts sounded, Roman grumbled.
Roman: It's just going to be one of those days, ain't it.
Roman then started barking orders.
Roman: Alright, you animals, let's get this show on the road; Deery, start the train! The rest of you get on board.
As the deer antler, Faunus tried to start the train; an explosion happened curtsy of Silva's handiwork. Roman grits his teeth, and suddenly, he gets a text message from Neopolitan.
Neopolitan: [The train has been sabotaged by Snowball. ]
Roman: Now she tells me... Okay, you dumb beasts, start fixing the train now before we are behind schedule.
Meanwhile, with Team RWBY plus one dog.
The girls heard the alarm go off, followed by an explosion, and Ruby started dishing out orders.
Ruby: Yang, Blake, keep the grunts occupied. Weiss, Snow Castle!
As Yang and Blake started to tear into the White Fang grunts, Weiss brought up a Glyph and created a series of walls with Ice Dust. Weiss made a tower for Ruby so she could start sniping the White Fang officers and Weiss provided backup for Blake and Yang with her Glyphs and Dust. As more grunts began to focus on the young Huntresses, Roman saw how things were playing out and cursed.
Roman: Brothers, curse it! I just can't catch a break. Not only are those brats here, but Snowball is causing some earthquakes as well. Fire B*tch will not be happy about how the diversion plan has been stopped flat.
Roman felt a tap on his shoulder and saw his tri-colored friend giving him a sympathetic look.
Roman: Thanks, Neo. You better get out of here and hook up with that pyromaniac while I try to salvage what I can here.
Neopolitan nodded and disappeared. Roman made his way to the Paladins and got on board along with a few others. As the robots powered up, Team RWBY was starting to get low on Aura and stamina.
Yang: Sis, any other plans?
Ruby: Let's fall back for now and lure them into the city aboveground. Freezer Burn!
Weiss created a sheet of ice, and Yang then hits it with her weapon causing a smokescreen to form. Blake then asked.
Blake: What about Silva?
Ruby: He'll be fine like he always is.
Weiss: True, there is little to worry about him.
Yang: It looks like he is going to get a SILVA medal for second place since he is behind us.
Blake: Yang, just no.
Ruby: Yeah, Yang, that was pretty bad.
Yang shrugged and headed to the surface with the others with a smirk as Roman approached the fog with his team of Paladins when suddenly, the whole cave shook. Silva sent the last of the grunts surrounding him flying and impeded into the cave wall. He then spread out his senses and got the gist of the situation.
Silva: Since the girls are safe and out of the way, I guess I can cut loose.
( Several minutes later)
Team RWBY set up camp at a different abandoned building than before to keep an eye on the situation, but for some reason, they have not seen any White Fang grunts since they reached the surface.
Ruby: Any ideas what's going on, everybody? None of the White Fang have shown up since we left.
Blake: This is unusual... We should have seen some teams hunting for us by now.
As silence filled the surroundings, Blake's ears hidden by her bow twitched, and she shushed everyone and whispered.
Blake: Quiet, we got company.
As the girls readied their weapons, they soon heard footsteps closing in on them. As the steps drew closer, tension filled the air as the girls heard their hearts beat loudly. As the source of the footsteps soon revealed itself, Ruby signaled for everyone to get ready. The source of their anxiety was shown to be Silva, making them relax.
Silva: I'm back!
Ruby: Hey Silva!
They soon noticed the two people Silva was dragging with him, Adam's Lieutenant and Roman.
Ruby: You caught Roman!
Blake: I see you have Adam's Lieutenant, good, but what about the rest of the White Fang?
Silva: Either dead or soon to be dead because we are not equipped to contain all of them by ourselves.
Ruby: But Silva, are we not supposed to catch bad guys? Not well... kill them.
Ruby looked more than a little uncomfortable with Silva's admission of taking lifes. Her expression was mirrored by Weiss and Yang, but Blake tried to keep a stoic expression, but she clenched her hands against her arms as they were crossed. The white tiger Faunus sighed, seeing that all of them were bothered by the fact he took life so easily, even if they did not see it firsthand. He then sets up a pickup signal on his scroll while waiting for a Bullhead to get us.
Silva gestured for them to take a seat, and they hesitated for a few moments before complying. Silva started telling them his point of view.
Silva: Ruby, how many of the White Fang do you think was down there?
Ruby: Uh...
Silva: At least several dozen. Now with this in mind, do you think we could have successfully detained them until the military showed up and took them out of our hands?
Ruby looked down and kept quiet because she knew we couldn't, well Silva could, but I decided to use this mission as a lesson to the girls about the less idealistic part of being a Huntsman/Huntress. Silva continued with telling them his thoughts on the manner.
Silva: Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang. Being a Huntsman or Huntress means that, at times, you have to make certain choices. In this case, choosing to end the lifes of others to protect the lifes of civilians, your team, or even your own because Grimm is not the only adversity you will face and not even the greatest. Because in the end, the worse enemy humanity and the Faunus have to face is themselves. If you can't face this and accept it, you not only get yourself killed but the people you are trying to protect.
As silence filled the area and everyone soon heard a Bullhead come into the airspace. Silva then snapped them out of their thoughts.
Silva: Ok, everyone, let's head home.
Silva picked up Roman and Adam's Lieutenant and headed to the airship.
Silva POV
Well, I hope the girls took my words to heart because not only did Pyrrha die in the canon, but Weiss nearly did as well at Mistral when confronting Cinder. I am going to do everything I can to prevent that from happening. As we all flew back, Ruby spoke up.
Ruby: Silva...
I hummed in reply, and the red reaper then said.
Ruby: Maybe you're right, but I still want to try to do the right thing my way, no matter what!
I sighed at Ruby's naivety and said.
Silva: I sincerely hope you don't come to regret that, Ruby; I really do.
Yang: Don't worry, Silva, she's got us!
Yang pulled the rest of her team into a group hug against their wills from the looks of Weiss and Blake. I soon heard a retching sound, and I saw Roman dry heaving from the sweetness overflow of the touching moment.
Roman: Sweet truly, but please get another to due... that somewhere else.
I kicked Roman unconscious, and he was out of it for the rest of the way to Vale.
