Yang POV
My mother, a bandit!? This thought repeated in my head since Silva told me about her yesterday. As I go over what he told me, I realized why Dad and Uncle Qrow never told me any details about my mother. As I massage my temples, feeling the mild headache coming over me, my thoughts turned to Silva's reaction when I told him that Raven Branwen is my mother.
He looked surprised, then shrugged it off and told me.
Silva: So? You are only yourself and no one else, Yang. We can't choose who gives birth to us any more than what is our natural hair or eye color are.
What he said makes sense, and I agree with him, but she is still my mother, for Brothers' sake. As was lost in my thoughts, laying on the bed in the hotel I am staying at till Beacon starts, my little sister Ruby said.
Ruby: Yang! I'm heading out for a bit. Do you want anything?
Ruby's voice shook me out of my thoughts, and I then answered.
Yang: Nothing comes to mind, but thanks for asking Ruby.
Ruby nodded, then headed to the door, and before she opened it, I reminded her.
Yang: Ruby, don't talk to strangers and don't follow them either, even if they offer you cookies!
My little sister groaned and pout when she replied.
Ruby: YANG! That only happened once, and I was seven!
I smirked at her and continue to poke fun at her before she leaves.
Yang: And don't try to bargain with the bakeries for a discount for cookies or try to get them to give you cookies for free.
She groaned once more and covered her face in embarrassment; she is so cute, and then replied.
Ruby: I stopped doing that years ago, Yang, and it worked in the movies and TV shows to get people to give you discounts, and you tried to do the same as well.
I puffed up my chest in pride and retorted.
Yang: And I had greater success than you, little sister.
Ruby huffed and just left, knowing I won the argument, and I snickered at her antics.
Silva POV
Well, my morning is a mix of heaven and hell. Miltia and Melanie gave me a simple demand for not interfering with my chat with Yang last night, and that is to be their body pillow for a couple of days. While it did not sound bad but rather lovely, I was reminded that I have a different sleeping schedule from them.
Miltia and Melanie sleep in the morning and part of the afternoon while I sleep through the night. This brings me to my current situation. I have a beautiful girl in each arm, but I can't move or have any naughty fun with them as they sleep because the twins expressly said to let them rest in peace. Now I am bored out of my mind while snuggling with them.
I quietly sighed and decided to practice my meditation to help pass the time, and it helped a bit, but I still feel ready to beat my head against the wall to kill my boredom. As time seemed to pass by slowly, the door to the twin's room opened and revealed little Kyu holding her fox tail closely. Seeing her, I asked in a whisper.
Silva: Kyu? What the matter?
Kyu came closer and got into the bed along with us, and I asked her once more, feeling worried about her.
Silva: Kyu, sweetheart, how can I help you?
Kyu then told me, relieving my worries.
Kyu: Kyu is playing hide and seek with everyone.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her choice of a hiding place, but I felt glad I had someone to talk to to help pass the time. I then asked her curiously in a whisper.
Silva: So, Kyu, how do you like living here?
As she laid atop my chest with the covers hiding her, she told me quietly.
Kyu: Kyu likes it here; the big sisters are nice.
Silva: Glad to hear it. Is there anything you like in particular?
Kyu hummed, and after a few moments, she told.
Kyu: Kyu likes everything, but Kyu really enjoys spending time with everyone.
I smiled and continued talking to her to help the time go by more quickly. Thankfully, Miltia and Melanie are deep sleepers, so my whispering with Kyu did not bother them. Again the door opens, and Kyu quickly quiets down. Ilia was the one to open the door, and she asked me in a hushed tone.
Ilia: Silva, have you seen or heard Kyu anywhere?
I replied vaguely to avoid lying.
Silva: How can I see or hear anything while I am being treated as a body pillow? Let alone Kyu, but why are you looking for her?
Ilia smiled as she told me.
Ilia: We are all playing hide and seek since Morgana suggested it, and Kyu is one of the last people I have to find.
Silva: Okay, have fun, and good luck finding everybody.
Ilia: Thanks and see you later.
As Ilia closed the door, Kyu then said to me.
Kyu: Thank you.
Silva: Anytime, Kyu.
Kyu kept me company for the next couple of hours before she decided to leave and reveal herself to the others.
( A few days later)
Me, Emerald, Ilia, and Blake are at Beacon right now to take its entrance exam since we did not go to a combat school beforehand. First, the written exam is not too difficult, especially since I tutored everyone before we came, and now for the fun part, the practical exam. We everyone else went before me, and now I am next.
I entered the test area, and I saw a familiar figure, Professor Peter Port, with his massive mustache and red uniform. Peter Port then gave his introduction and explanation about the entrance exam.
Peter: Ah, young warrior, it's not often that Beacon gets to test prospective students that do not rely on an unorthodox education. So let's see your mettle, young warrior.
He swung his weapon Blowhard to open a nearby cage and what came out was a solitary Beowolf. Little wonder Blake got into Beacon in the canon if the practical exam is this easy. The Beowolf noticed me and charged at me with reckless abandon. I pulled back my right hand and had it in a spear hand form, then thrust it through the Grimm, piercing it in the neck.
The Beowolf slumped and started to fade into black particles. Professor Port clapped and graduated me.
Peter: Congratulations, young man. I look forward to seeing you attend Beacon and truly impressive combat skills you displayed. You remind me of another young man. Strong, dashing, and courageous, MYSELF when I was younger.
I quickly made myself scarce before I have listened to him brag about himself before classes even start. Well, that was anticlimactic.
( Hours later)
Everyone: CHEERS!
Everyone is celebrating that I, Emerald, Ilia, and Blake will be attending Beacon next week after passing the entrance exam today. I went all out and had the robot chefs make everyone's favorite foods. As the party went on, I enjoyed a small bottle of fruity wine with low alcohol content as everyone else interacted; parties were never really my thing.
Tsukiyomi came up to me with a visible blush on her face and a bottle in her hand. She wrapped her arms around me and said in a slur.
Tsukiyomi: Ssiillvva, yous deserves a reeward. Vum ear U.
She pulled me into a sloppy kiss, and I returned it. Tsukiyomi then started snoozing away, and I couldn't help wryly smile at her passed out from drinking too much. I quickly left the party temporarily to take Tsukiyomi to her room. After that, I ran into Coco as I made my way back to the party, and she said.
Coco: Come here; you are supposed to be the guest of honor.
As she dragged me back, I then asked her, noticing something strange.
Silva: Um, Coco isn't the party in the other direction?
She smirked at me and said.
Coco: Just humor me for a bit, k.
As I followed her outside, she then told me.
Coco: I permit you.
As she lost me there, I had to ask.
Silva: To do what?
She broke into a wide grin and said.
Coco: To date, Velvet, of course.
I narrowed my eyes at her and replied with a bit of heat in my voice.
Silva: I don't think I need your permission to do that in the first, and besides, that is between Velvet and me in the first place.
She wagged her finger at me and pointed out.
Coco: I don't mean like that, Silva, and besides, Velvet is very passive, so you need to make the first move anyway, and I am telling you right now, Velvet is very into you, so go for it.
I looked at her curiously and asked.
Silva: What brought this on in the first place?
Coco smiled at me and told me.
Coco: You see, while I like the fact you don't force yourself on her and are being very patient with her, I think things need to speed up a bit since both of you are going to be busy attending Beacon in different years.
I nodded in agreement then asked her.
Silva: What about you then?
This left her speechless for a moment, and I then drew closer to her and said.
Silva: I also find you very attractive, Coco, and would like to date you as well.
Coco snapped out of it and pressed her finger against my chest, and told me.
Coco: While I am flattered by your feelings, I want to focus on becoming a Huntress first, but after I achieve that, we can talk about it. Anyway, back to Velvet, go get her.
Silva: Okay, but Coco, I will hold you to that.
She smirked and said.
Coco: I look forward to it.
I went off to find Velvet and see about taking her out on a date sometime soon.
( A few days later)
It's nighttime, and I am out for a scroll to see if Ruby is at the Dust Till Dawn dust shop. I have my new sword with me that I crafted out the bones of that half-Grimm monster Salem created from Summer. Shame I won't wake up be able to wake Summer from her coma before Beacon starts, but it will be soon nonetheless.
As I entered the dust shop, I saw a familiar red hood in the corner by the magazines; let's see if the night is tonight.
