章節 12: Chapter:-12 Bary's death
"Huff...Huff...Huff...Huff " Bary Chain woke up gasping for breath ,beads of sweat rolled down his ghastly pale face. His fingers tightly clenching on to the sheets.
He was a 48 years old man, with a disabled leg. He worked inside the [Northern mines] in the border town, mining was a source of income for many.
His wife died 6 years ago leaving behind a 12-years old daughter, with whom his relation was stained, his daughter considered him the reason for his wife's death.
He had a average built ,barely above the category of undernourished, his daughter had his black-raven hair and similar face structure.
He spend most of his time, gambling or mining though he used the money earned from gambling to send her daughter to study at the public school.
He loved his wife, but he didn't care about his daughter, only because she reminded him of his late wife, he spend money for her education.
One day, during mining the cave collapsed on his legs, crushing them beyond repair. His partner tried to kill him and take all of his belongings.
Somehow, his daughter became a witch conjuring a flame and burned his partner alive. He hated witches as much as he loved his wife.
Now that his own flesh and blood was one, he couldn't tolerate it. The image of his beloved wife, a witch ?!!!!.....Never. So he report his own daughter to the guards and had them take her away.
He got 25-gold coins which could very well allow him to spend his remaining live without the need to work.
But since the day his daughter was 'hanged', he was getting these terrifying nightmares ,that the undead would drag him to hell. He was out of breath and shivering due to the fear growing inside him.
'I must visit a priest !!!!.' Bary thought ,in the southern parts of the Kingdom, there weren't many churches and in a place like Border land, it was impossible for the church to provide aid.
This place was only meant to serve as an early warning ,if the enemy kingdom invaded or the [Demons] entered the territory of Graycastle.
He extended his shivering hand to the empty bowl and poured some water from the jug in the bowl.
He moved his forward to drink the water, he body suddenly came to an abrupt stop. A blurry figure or rather a image reflected from the surface of the water inside the bowl.
The figure had red-eyes glowing in the darkness, the iris of the figure was non-existant ,it held onto the ceiling ,his nails and toes dugged inside the ceiling.
Bary trembled and rolls off the bed, falls down of the cold floor. He crawled as his legs didn't work. A hand extended from below the bed and grabbed onto Bary's leg.
It pulled his inside the darkness, Bary struggled as he looked up ,the figure was gone but Bary knew that the one who held his leg was no one other than that figure.
Bary screamed and screamed but no one came to his rescue, It was like no one heard his call, like no one knew what was happening to him.
{Outside the house}
Azik stood of the green grass,he wore black cloak covering his body, his yellow prism eyes shinned through the darkness, the ring on his arm glowed with a chilling black-color.
He looked at the house in front of him ,blood leaked out of the front door. Azik gaze was cold and indifferent ,he turned back and walked away.
A portion of [Corpse-Collector] had been digested.
The house then suddenly crumbled and fell on Bary, burying him deep inside the dubris. Next day the news of Bary chain's dead reached the ears of Anna who cried in grief.
Though she hated her father, the pain of losing everyone, her family did hurt her, like someone had stabbed her heart with a knife.
It took some time to coax Anna, Roland himself accompanied her for sometime ,till she recovered from the trauma she was suffering from.
{In the afternoon}
Kite sat on the branch of a huge tree, in the courtyard of the castle. His eyes gazed at the scene in front of him.
His [Spectator] was slowly been digested, he wore a white cloak with a white hood, resembling [Assassin Creed] uniform. His palms wrapped with white strips. The hood covered his face, hiding everything.
Roland was giving a lecture on [Fundamental-science], he had decided to use the [lime stone] found inside the mines as a reactant together with cement to form a wall around the town, to fend off the demons.
During [Months of Demons] various Demonic beasts and Demonic hybrids overrun lands and seas, attacking border villages and careless travelers. Most ferocious attacks fall on the Holy city of Hermes, and Church regularly gathered Four Kingdoms' armies to help repelling beasts' assaults.
Due to threat of nautic Demonic beasts sea traffic, trade and travels ceased as well.
Kite would use this chance to digest his [Apothecary], [Reader] and [Bard]. He would act as a doctor, together with Nana Pine. He would not only gain more knowledge but also would be able to work with all kinds of medicines and herbs.
Always ,for the army Roland wants to create, he will write the [Song] which Roland's army would sing. [Bard] required one to sing, but it didn't specify who to sing. You may write a song with extraordinary power to promote the [Bard].
He observed their reactions as his [Spectator] kicked in. Anna ,her face muscles were stretched outside, seemingly lost in thoughts, Nana had stars in her eyes whereas Carter was confused and a little anxious.
Roland turned around and asked "So do you understand what I want to say...????"
"You mean to say that one of the gas inside air will increase the flame whereas the other gas would put it out???." Said Anna with an exaggerated expression on her face.
Roland/Kite thought 'Such a kid !!!!'
"Good to know that you do understand, take rest for some time before you try to digest what you have gained from the lecture." Roland turns around and walks towards his study as he thought of the machine design for [Stream-powered items].
Kite also disappeared from the branch on which he was standing and appeared in the infirmary.
