Samantha wakes up from her sleep; she looks at ceiling and Uriel lowers his head with a smile as he says:
"I´m glad you are awake, how are you feeling?"
Samantha realizes that her head is in Uriel's lap; her face turns red as she stands up and replies:
"I-I-I'm feeling better, thank you."
"Well you've grown up, in the last 2 years; your breasts are even bigger Samantha."
Samantha turns around with a frightened expression and sees an old woman sitting in a chair in front of them. Mercy smiles and says:
"Welcome home, my child."
Mercy Wicca (Age 50) is a mature woman with wrinkles on her face, she has a thin body, white hair and brown eyes. She also has a pale white skin; she is wearing a brown long dress with a cape and a cap to cover from the cold. She was Bridget's mother.
Samantha stands up and replies with rage; "I am not your child, you vanished me from this village and now you are greeting me with a smile?"
"Of course I am, after all you have brought with you the heart of Alexandria and the Horseman of War with you."
Uriel hears her words and stands up asking:
"What do you mean by Horseman of War, you're mistaking, and I am El Charro Negro."
"Oh, so that's what you call yourself today? Now that is a peculiar name, but I guess it makes sense since your predecessor did move to Mexico about 150 years ago." Mercy says while looking at Uriel. Uriel recalls events from the past where some people including Malitze said to him that he was "war." Uriel begins to asks:
"So you know who I am, my stupid predecessor never told me anything. Can you please tell me the relationship that I have with this heart?"
Mercy laughs, closes her chair to the small fire that heated the place, she says to Uriel and Samantha to sit down. They sit in some cushions, and Mercy begins to explain:
"In order to understand the heart, you must first understand what you are. In the beginning of time; the earth was rich with manna, the natural energy that flows around, right now only a few people can sense it, and I'd say that only 10% percent of the population can sense it."
Mercy takes out a special pipe and begins to smoke as she continues to explain:
"In the past, the entire population could sense and use manna; there even those who could control massive amount of manna that people considered them Gods. Many cultures started worshipping heroes as divine entities, if one could control manna, they could become immortal. The earth gave us a great gift. "
Uriel looks at the fire and Mercy blows smoke and begins to show images as she continues to speak:
"Humans by nature have the sin of greed and always want more of what they have. Soon the gods began to fight among each other causing a massive amount of destruction in the earth. They open a rift in time and spaces making four entities appear."
The smoke begins to take form of form people riding horses as Mercy speaks:
"They were equestrians riding black horses with different colored eyes. The first one had a green-eyed horse, which brought sickness to the world; with the sickness, it brought conquest. It carried a bow and an arrow and when he fires to the chosen ones, the necessity of conquering appears in their heart. When that horse passes through the lands, diseases strikes to the people, killing everyone around. He is now known as Conquest."
Uriel begins to remember that in his vision he saw a man with green eyes known as "Conquista." Mercy continues to explain:
"The second equestrian has a horse with blue eyes. It carries a scale and when he passes through the lands, he could judge what amount of resources the land could hold. Sometimes the equestrian believed that none was worth-having resources, he would measure the land's wealth with his scale and if the scale said that they were not worthy, he would cause people to starve to death, this is how many civilizations were wipe out of hunger. He is known as Famine."
Samantha looks at the figures as this was the first time she was hearing this as well. Mercy shows another figure:
"The third equestrian has a horse with red eyes, and that one is you, it is said that if he appeared in the nations, ferocious battles would always happen, he carries a flame sword and destroyed everything in his path. Though it may not be the most powerful of the four it the most influential, because he could convince the people to fight one another with the simple swing of his sword. He is known as War"
Uriel looks shocked to learn that he is in fact the most evil being that his religion spoke off; he begins to tremble as he remembers all of the nuns who ignored him, or shouted that he was an evil being. He begins to think:
"Now I understand why do I have so much power in me, this power is forbidden, what have I done?"
Samantha holds his hand and says:
"You might have a malignant power, but you are still a good person, don't forget the things that you have done up till this day."
Uriel calms down and smiles at Samantha saying; "Thank you!"
"She is right boy, you might have an evil power but you have a gentle soul. Now let me explain the most powerful of the four."
Mercy says as she blows smoke from her mouth, she puts a serious expression and explains:
"The last equestrian has a horse with white eyes, it is said that he was sealed by God before the birth of humanity. He is as old as the Bible God, the only equestrian that was born without the help of humanity as it is a natural phenomenom and because that cannot be stopped even if we want to. It took the form of a man without any explanations and joined the group. He carries a scythe, and everywhere he passes, people die with out explanation. He is said to know Darkness itself, and even God could not stop him, the opposite of Life known as Death. What is frightening is not only his strength but the army he controls of reapers called "Cegadores", it is said that they work all around the world taking the souls who die to the Purgatory to be judged."
Uriel and Samantha look shock to here that, Mercy continues with her explanation:
"Those four became known as "The Four Horsemen." They exist between life and death, once you possessed that power, you are no longer alive but you are not dead, you are in between. According to the teachings of Alexandria; before the birth of the son of God, there was a beast that appeared out of nowhere and began the destruction of the earth, it took the gods from all over the world to seal it, the seals were separated across the earth, and the four horsemen were separated as well. It is rare to see two of them together. They are not immortal expect Death and need to pass down their powers to the next generation just like you predecessor did with you."
"What do you mean by that, doesn't Death passes its powers as well?" Uriel asks Mercy, Mercy looks at the smoke and replies:
"No, he is the only horseman that hasn't pass down his powers since the beginning of time or at least that is what Alexandria told us."
"I see, so what does this have to do with the White Witch?" Uriel asks impatiently, Mercy laughs and replies:
"I´m just getting to the good part, calm down boy."
Mercy makes the smoke take shape of a heart, and two horsemen as she continues to speak:
"Two hundred years ago, Alexandria gave his husband Ichabod the power of a horseman, the horseman of Conquest which was a great help to the Revolution of this country. About 100 years ago; during the Red Moon; the white witch and her husband were defeated by the horseman of war, a pastor from the Puritan Defense and a saint from the Order of the Divine Cross. To be honest, I don't know in details what happened but it was during the Mexican Revolution near the borderland where they lost their lives. Ichabod was sealed in his hometown known as "Sleepy Hollow" and the white witch´s body was sent here, however her heart was sealed in the mountains which you and Samantha recovered."
"I understand, so what do you need me to do?"
"We need your blood, the blood of the horseman of war in order to destroy the heart. Samantha is a direct descendant of the witch; she even has her white hair. Her true identity is Samantha Beldam, descendant of the original founder of the White Witch´s cult and granddaughter of Alexandria; Jeannette Beldam."
Uriel looks shocked in learning the identity of Samantha. Mercy continues:
"The plan is to use the blood of the horseman and the blood of one the descendants to destroy the heart tomorrow night that has a last lunar eclipse before the Red Moon and free this village from the eternal winter."
Samantha lowers her head, she begins to ask Uriel:
"Could you please help us? Could you save the village?"
Uriel closes his eyes and tries to reflect on what he just heard. He smiles and replies:
"Sure, I will help Samantha, you can count on me."
Samantha smiles and hugs Uriel´s arm saying; "Thank you"
"EXCELLENT, THAT WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE!" Mercy screams with a great smile. She makes two claps, and says:
"Betty and Abi please come in."
Two girls around the age of Samantha come in; one has black hair and the other blonde. Mercy stands up and says:
"Allow me to present you the descendants of the founder of the village Annette Hutch. They are Elizabeth Hutch and Abigail Hutch."
Elizabeth Hutch (Age 17) is a young girl with long black hair; she has white skin and blue eyes. She has a well developed body, and she is wearing colonial attire which consists of a long black dress, and a cape. She is the older sister of Abigail.
Abigail Hutch (Age 16) is a young girl with long blonde hair and green eyes. She has white skin, a developed body. She is wearing a long white dress and a cape for the cold. She is the younger sister of Elizabeth.
"It is a pleasure to meet you and we are sorry." The girls say as they vow to Uriel. Uriel smiles and says:
"The pleasure is mine and don´t worry, everything is forgotten." This causes the girls to blush and scream:
"WOW HE IS SO HOT"
(BOOM, BOOM)
Mercy hits both of their heads and she says; "Control yourselves, behave more like woman."
Mercy clears her throat and orders:
"Now then, please take Uriel to one of our guest cabins so he could rest. I am going to speak to Samantha a little longer."
Uriel looks at Samantha shaking and says:
"Sorry but I won't anywhere without Samantha."
"Oh is that so?" Mercy asks with a smile, Samantha feels her hostile intent and looks at Uriel:
"Uriel go on ahead, I will be with you in a moment." Uriel sees Samantha smiling; however, he knows that she was making a fake smile. He sighs with his eyes close and says; "Fine, but don't take too long okay." Samantha nods in agreement; Uriel decides to walk with the two girls and leaves the cabin. Samantha changes her expression as she looks at Mercy.
"Oh my, that is a scary stare. Aren't you going to greet me, you mother?"
"You are not my mother, the only family I had was Martha and Bridget."
Mercy smiles with a powerful aura coming out of her as she says;
"Well isn't that nice, be grateful I won't kill you right now but tomorrow, you will die."
