The Guardian of Tartarus was the one who's leading the charge against the Imp Overlord - the biggest devil there is currently. He might look like a toddler in front of it, but he surely wasn't losing out on each clash.

The Guardian wanted to end this siege as soon as possible. He knew that the longer this continues, the casualties on their side will pile up and he didn't want any unnecessary deaths specially knowing that he could something about it.
